A Day in the Life

The Medical Surgical Portfolio strives to enable earlier diagnosis, better treatment, faster complication-free recovery, and enhanced patient outcomes through less invasive surgical solutions.

Our newly formed Acute Care & Monitoring (ACM) business, formally Patient Monitoring and Respiratory Interventions, is part of the Medical Surgical Portfolio and works together with the global healthcare community to solve clinically meaningful problems, with technologies and solutions for blood oxygen management, respiratory compromise, and perioperative complications.

This role covers the Western US territory.

As a Clinical Specialist in ACM, you will enhance the selling process by serving as the clinical expert on monitoring solutions including pulse oximetry, capnography, tracheostomy, and HealthCast portfolio. You will be responsible for clinical support for Monitoring at Home Care, DME, LTACH, Hospital to Home and Hospital at Home. You will conduct on-site education and/or consulting. You will support field personnel in providing the best possible outcomes and service for Medtronic customers. This position is actively involved pre- and post-sale stages to identify and foster elements, processes, and champions that result in successful product adoption. You will serve as a technical resource to support sales of a specific medical product or solution.

  • Conducts on-site education and / or consulting.
  • Supports field personnel in providing the best possible outcomes and service for Medtronic customers.
  • Partners with sales colleagues to develop and execute plans of sales for within one or more business unit(s).
  • Participates in conventions, forums, and meetings to increase product awareness.
  • Works closely with Clinical Lead, Clinical Management and Regional Sales team to provide customer case and sales support.
  • Identifies and facilitates execution on growth opportunities with Sales and Clinical Support Team.
  • Serves as a technical resource to support sales of a specific medical product or solution.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience or advanced degree with 0 years of experience


Nice to Have

  • Field sales experience in an acute care setting, home care or DME
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Medical capital and consumable sales experience
  • Experience in patient monitoring in a variety of care settings
  • Clinical education experience of hospital staff, DME or Home Health
  • Strong ability to both create and deliver presentations, education plans, and evaluation plans that reflect the needs of the customer
  • Proficient in Salesforce.com, Sales Analytics and MS Office (including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$71,200.00 - $106,800.00

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
