Job Title: Vice President, Corporate Marketing

Job Location: United States

Job Overview:

The VP of Corporate Marketing reports to the Chief Business and Strategy Officer and will be responsible for providing leadership and management of the Company’s corporate marketing organization. She/he will oversee a corporate rebranding related to the Company merger, advertising, awareness, creative services, corporate messaging, internal communications and the strategic use of marketing data to increase global sales. This leader will define, implement and measure strategic, global corporate marketing initiatives that build awareness and consideration for the brand, and enhance marketing and sales efforts.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the corporate marketing and brand strategy resulting in consistent branding, messaging and positioning
  • Develop a global brand that leverages both the Company’s global presence as well as strong local China presence
  • Partner with business development, operations, finance, investor relations, and human resources in order to project consistent corporate messages internally and externally.
  • Present a relevant and differentiated global brand and ensure consistent stewardship as appropriate in areas of direct and indirect ownership including events, web properties, media and analyst relations, executive speaking opportunities, thought leadership, as well as employee- and community-relations.
  • Define and execute programs to engage with influencers such as media, analysts and industry thought leaders, to ensure they have a positive and current view of the Company.
  • Manage PR relationships globally and guide relevant topical press coverage for the company and external thought leadership placements for key executives.
  • Manage the interface with external agencies including but not limited to PR, advertising, branding, creative services, events and web.
  • Develop and manage the company’s corporate marketing budget
  • Innovate, manage and track hierarchical system of strategic, operational and tactical metrics for function using data to manage resource allocation, outcomes and success

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervise employees, as required. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; performance management; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Job Requirements:

  • Education
    • College degree (BA or BS) in Marketing, Communications, English, or Journalism required, relevant equivalent experience and/or advanced degree
  • Experience
  • 15 years relevant experience in a high-growth global clinical research organization with direct responsibility for corporate and/or product marketing strategy and execution
  • Track record of success in an executive marketing role at a high growth global clinical research organization
  • Experience leading the rebranding exercise after the merger of two peer organizations
  • Understanding of regional marketing in key countries such as China, United States, Germany, etc.

    • Ability to determine, implement and adjust the mix between internal- and vendor-resources particularly in the areas of advertising, creative services and event management to drive optimal outcomes. Build and manage relationships with chosen vendors.
    • Critical thinking, strategic acumen and market insight: The skill to synthesize competitive trends, market data and customer /consumer insights into a plan of action. Comfortable with ambiguity and change.
    • Must be an effective written and oral communicator with all stakeholders.
    • Leadership by example and motivation through creating common vision and commitment to desired outcomes
    • Passion for results and performance oriented: The ability to find creative solutions and generate results in a dynamic, high growth environment. Will have a strong sense of urgency and the ability to infuse that in others
  • Capabilities
