Product Owner - Marketing Technologies

To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, this position will steward our Marketing Technology and its related processes by communicating with stakeholders and end users, managing vendor relationships, and prioritizing changes to achieve greater value out of the Marketing Technology for the organization.

Marketing Technology Product Owner Addendum

To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, this position will steward our Marketing Technology and its related processes by communicating with stakeholders and end users, managing vendor relationships, and prioritizing changes to achieve greater value out of the Marketing Technology for the organization.

ADDITIONAL MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 

Marketing Technology Leadership:

  • Serve on the Technology Platform Team to help build a highly effective and unified Technology Platform strategy that clearly understands its purpose within Intervarsity’s mission and objectives.
  • Execute and maintain the organization’s marketing technology strategy.
  • Build an effective partnership and gain consistent alignment with Development, Field Leadership, and all of Operations, to be able to strategically lead the organization toward its best use of marketing technology to meet missional needs.
  • Advise the Technology Leadership on leveraging our current marketing technology to accomplish strategic ministry objectives.
  • Facilitate transparent communications with leadership.  Build trust by establishing and monitoring measures for success and providing regular reports.
  • In partnership with the Director of Marketing, ensure that marketing technology is effectively implemented and maintained to meet marketing objectives.

Marketing Technology Ownership Responsibilities:

  • Manage the product lifecycle of all organizational marketing technology. This includes, but is not limited to, MailChimp, Preference Center, Salesforce list management, etc.
  • Work with teams from Technology Solutions and Technology Operations to ensure an efficient transition from product planning and prioritization to implementation.
  • Anticipate, influence, and articulate high-level and future-focused needs for our existing marketing technology products.
  • Develop and maintain targeted roadmaps for our current and future marketing technology products.
  • Create and maintain consistent business processes to facilitate the prioritization of work with our current Marketing Technology Products.
  • In partnership with the Director of Technology Platforms, prioritize feature and defect work for InterVarsity’s Marketing Technology products inside the Sprint framework.
  • Define and measure ROI for the organization's Marketing Technology Products.
  • In partnership with the Director of Technology Platforms, manage strategic decision-making for Vendor relationships related to our Marketing Technology Platforms.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Develop, maintain, and progress partnerships between the Technology Line and the rest of the organization to deliver the greatest value from our current Marketing Technology Products.
  • Working with major organizational stakeholders to ensure a consistent and efficient feedback loop allows for iterative product and process improvement.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Marketing, or other related degree is required.
·Two years of marketing technology products.

Product Ownership

  • Oversea the end-to-end product life-cycle of assigned products.
  • Manage and maintain a backlog of improvements and fixes for the product using the framework given by the Director of Technology Platforms
  • Regularly connect with the product’s key stakeholders, ensuring the needs of the organization are being met.
  • Define and measure key metrics to measure product success.
  • Regularly gather feedback and requests for fixes and enhancements from individuals and groups who use the product, and anticipate audience needs to further the use of the Product.
  • Regularly sync the vendor roadmap with the internal product roadmap.
  • Be the strongest voice of advocacy in the organization for the Product.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Partner with the Director of Technology Platforms to maintain the Vendor relationship.
  • Partner with the Director of Technology Solutions to communicate clear development needs.
  • Partner with the Director of Technology Operations to ensure that the operations team is adequately prepared to administer any assigned products.
  • Partner with the Director of Support and Solutions to ensure that’s the support and solutions team is adequately prepared to support the product.
  • Manage the communication of product changes to key stakeholders and end users in the organization.

Fund Development

  • Develop a team of prayer and financial support.
  • Raise an agreed-upon amount of financial support annually.
  • Establish and nurture ministry partner relationships through visits, phone calls and regular prayer letters.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • A designated office space is assigned at the National Service Center, or a home office
  • Required travel includes, but is not limited to training sessions, meetings and conferences.
  • Regularly required to communicate with others, and routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, etc.
  • Evening and weekend availability for special projects and on-call for emergencies

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith and abide by InterVarsity’s Code of Conduct
  • Thorough knowledge of or the ability to learn: the purpose, vision, ministries and policies of InterVarsity
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other related degree is preferred.
·2 years of product management experience.
  • Proficiency with product management disciplines
  • Excellent knowledge of documentation policies, procedures, and systems of internal control
  • Leadership experience managing and implementing successful, comprehensive programs to achieve goals
  • Leadership skills, including negotiation, problem solving, decision making, and delegation.
  • Strong vendor management skills with the ability to negotiate contracts.
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills with a high capacity for solving problems and managing complexity
  • Strong theological acuity and spiritual maturity
  • Ability to synthesize and deliver complex information to diverse audiences both verbally and in writing in a simple and straightforward manner
  • Excellent relationship builder and team player who is able to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff, and management
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to work in a diverse team environment.  Cross-cultural abilities, including conflict resolution and leadership when crossing cultures
  • Ability to handle all matters in a confidential manner
  • Working knowledge of current Microsoft software applications
  • Ability to travel as required

Pay Range: $61,836.00 - $82,452.00 per year
