Please note this role can be located anywhere in the UK but will require travel to our London and Weybridge sites.

We currently have an exciting opportunity seeking a VP of RWD someone who is operational, commercial, client facing and a natural leader. This is a senior commercial role within the Clinigen Managed Access (MA) leadership team, having responsibility for designing and building the capability for Real World Data for MA. You will operate as an effective member of the Managed Access leadership team, and work across the Group to build the strategic capability to become the thought leader and delivery for RWD whilst taking ownership for the RWD P&L.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy and Planning

  • Review, update and deliver the full potential plan that feeds into the overall global Managed Access plan including but not exhaustive on types of resources, capability development linked to forecasts to ensure we manage the growth required. This spans client advisory activities through to full analysis packages
  • Build and deliver a one-year operational plan with responsibility for the P&L of RWD
  • Develop an innovative approach that will ensure we are linking market trends and client needs to be able to occupy and become the thought leader in UL for RWD/E
  • Keep up to date with the market trends, competitive landscape and client needs in order to ensure our service offering is ahead of the competition

Business Development

  • Build a strong link with Business Development to ensure we are building a strong pipeline
  • Design clear offerings for Clients that exceed expectations based on their needs, possibly with client segmentation and offerings bespoke per segment

Operational Delivery

  • Build team to deliver against current client deliverables, including scalable processes
  • Design and enable the RWE platform in conjunction with IT and Digital teams such that it meets and exceeds the clients expectations
  • Resource and ensure the service model linked to the Pipeline requirements
  • Build capability ahead of the client needs to deliver a strategic advantage in the RWD/E marketplace

Managed Access Leadership Team

  • Proactively input into the BU goals, strategy and direction to deliver FPP and annual budgets aligned to the Group’s long-term strategy
  • Ensure all key stakeholders across the Group are updated on the RWD offerings and status for Clinigen

People Development

  • Coach, lead and develop the team including direct and indirect reports to inspire and motivate a high level of performance
  • Ensure the appropriate level of resource and expertise is in place and that this is structured in the most effective way to deliver the strategy.
  • Development of a clear succession plan.
  • Provide regular feedback to direct reports. Proactively address underperformance.
  • Ensure effective communication of key messages to the team from across the Group.
  • Identify top talent and ensure there is a plan in place to retain them, keep them engaged and maximize their potential.
  • Recognize and celebrate success on a team and individual level. Ensure all direct reports have comprehensive personal development plans linked to individual, team and Group objectives and review these on a regular basis
  • Work with the HR Business Partner to assess both individual and team skill gaps and development needs, setting in place plans to close these gaps
  • Foster a strong sense of collaboration and teamwork with a focus on common business goals and KPIs
  • Lead by example to promote the Clinigen values and work to develop a coaching culture within the team and wider business

Requirements

  • Extensive experience within the pharmaceutical services industry
  • Demonstrable track record of leading successful teams that have consistently exceeded sales and profit targets, over multiple years
  • Experience in building data offerings in pharmaceutical services
  • A confident people manager, with experience in managing global teams and remote employees
  • Experience in motivating and coaching individuals to create high-performing teams
  • Excellent networker, negotiator and influencer
  • Proactive and solutions-driven, with a high level of accountability and ownership for driving results through people
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to collaborate effectively on projects with mutually beneficial outcomes
