Job description

Senior Data Scientist - AI/ML POC & Price Elasticity Modeling in Retail/CPG

Responsibilities:

  • Data Exploration & Analysis: Process and analyze both structured and unstructured data to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that inform business strategies.

  • Model Development: Design, build, and evaluate predictive models and machine learning algorithms, with a focus on price elasticity and related challenges.

  • Prototyping & Solutions: Develop AI/ML product prototypes that address customer problems and business needs, moving from concept to actionable solutions.

  • Data Visualization & Communication: Present complex data insights through intuitive data visualization techniques, making data-driven recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and product development teams to ensure seamless productionization of AI models, ensuring scalability and reliability.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant analytical field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science).

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in the retail or CPG industry, specifically in pricing models and demand forecasting.

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Python (including pandas and object-oriented programming), SQL, and experience in time series analysis.

  • Prototyping & Testing: Strong skills in creating prototypes, along with experience in QA, testing, and refining models for production use.

  • Data Interpretation & Storytelling: Ability to interpret complex data, create visualizations, and effectively communicate insights through data storytelling.

Core Skills

  • Programming: Python, SQL, experience with transaction data and time series analysis.

  • Cloud & Systems Architecture: Understanding of large-scale software and system architecture, with experience in cloud environments.

  • Communication: Strong ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Machine Learning Tools: Familiarity with Python ML libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Jupyter Notebooks, scikit-learn, and Numpy.

  • Big Data Processing: Prefer Databricks experience, Experience with Spark for handling large datasets.

  • UI Development: Experience in building simple UIs using Flask, Plotly, or Streamlit.

  • DevOps & CI/CD: Understanding of continuous integration, testing, deployment, and release methodologies.
