About the role

We are seeking a Strategic Pricing Specialist based in Melbourne. Reporting to the Strategic Pricing Manager you will perform analytical activities across the Express Parcels business units recommending yield and volume growth improvement initiatives to continuously drive revenue growth for the business. You will also can lead the continuous development of our capability & associated tools to better leverage analytics across the division.

The Strategic Pricing Specialist will be the core of providing ongoing advisory services to the GM / EGM community across a full spectrum of topics in order to continually improve the underlying revenue performance of the business.

What you’ll do

  • Drive strategic pricing projects to achieve yearly yield growth goals while minimizing churn risk for existing customers.
  • Identify, define, and develop solutions to enhance business performance through pricing elements in customer contracts.
  • Apply value-based pricing strategies across Global Express.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Operations to ensure contract profitability, negotiating with key stakeholders to adopt new practices.
  • Determine appropriate current and future costs for assessing customer contract profitability.
  • Maintain integrity of commercial contract terms related to price offers.
  • Foster communication with Pricing & Analytics team members and stakeholders for consistent and profitable pricing approaches.

What you’ll bring

  • Undergraduate qualification in Accounting, Economics or Engineering.
  • Extensive experience within Pricing and related disciplines.
  • Experience in the transport & logistics industry would be highly preferrable.
  • Intermediate to strong Excel, Power BI and SQL skills.
  • Comfortable working with large volumes of data with some exposure working in a data driven analytics environment.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills - required ability to deliver insightful commentary.
  • Strong business acumen - being able to make sound business decisions from the analysis performed’
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to self-review and deliver complete and accurate analysis.
  • Knowledge of yield management & Product Performance analysis techniques.
  • The use of Customer and Financial data to drive pricing & profit analysis.
