Your missions

At Practice Better, we believe practitioners and their clients deserve better. We’re changing how health and wellness practitioners work by building a modern EHR that’s designed to support the health of their clients and their practice at the same time.

We’re on a mission to help millions of practitioners build the independent practice of their dreams. Founded in 2016, we’re built by practitioners, for practitioners. In 2023, we acquired That Clean Life, the #1 nutrition planning software for nutrition-based care. With more than 40,000 customers in 70+ countries worldwide, we’re honored to be the EHR of choice for the practitioner with an independent spirit. And we’re just getting started.

How we work:
Practice Better operates remote-first, hybrid optional. We ensure each member of our team is equipped with the necessary tools to perform effectively within the comfort of their own space. However, flexibility is important! So, if you need to stretch your legs or whiteboard with your team, you can use our beautiful, private downtown Toronto office.

About the Position:

Job Title: Business Operations Lead

Location: Candidate must be located in Canada or the USA. Our office is located in Toronto, ON, Canada, but the role is remote/hybrid/flexible.

Reports to: SVP, BizOps and Corp Dev

Position Overview:

As a Business Operations Lead, you’ll play a critical role in the strategic direction and growth of the company. This position will report directly to the SVP of Business Operations and Corporate Development and will partner closely with the leadership team to ensure we make progress on key strategic initiatives and plays. The Business Operations Lead will work across the entire organization with high visibility, consistently collaborating with leaders from Product, to GTM, to People, and Finance. This role and team is new to the organization so you’ll also have the opportunity to shape the direction of the team and opportunity for impact.

We’re counting on you to:

  • Work cross-functionally with go-to-market and product stakeholders to define and implement strategy across all Practice Better products, driving increased value to our users and our business
  • Wear many hats as the Practice Better team grows and we create new functions or build out existing functional areas - you may find yourself leading Talent Operations for a quarter or building Product Operations and processes in another quarter.
  • Lead Practice Better’s growth through our next S Curve as the GM of our future vertical and product category growth opportunities, driving massive revenue and growth impact for our business and product.
  • Structure complex, ambiguous strategic problems for the Practice Better leadership team, defining clear hypotheses and building business cases and quantitative models that will inform and influence our approach - individually and with teams
  • Lead the definition and management of key drivers of business performance, identifying areas of opportunity and incorporating them into your work
  • Deeply understand Practice Better customers and the broader competitive market landscape to uncover insights that inform your recommendations

Who you are:

  • Highly analytical: Strong analytical skills, including fluency with Microsoft Excel and BI / Product Analytics tools like Looker, Tableau and Amplitude. Knowledge of SQL is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Intellectually rigorous: Strong first principles thinker and someone who is able to drive efficient and rigorous analysis, research and insight generation while building hypotheses and an action plan to tackle challenges.
  • Able to build great systems, processes and ways of working: Ability to solve complex business problems, create and bring the team along on new ways of working, and build scalable processes.
  • Excellent communicator: Excellent communication skills to distill complex thoughts and strategies into simple, actionable recommendations.
  • Highly collaborative and strong team player with high empathy: Ability to build trust with empathy while managing cross-functional relationships. Experience working closely with functional leaders to solve challenging business problems and credibly present and debate recommendations with both cross-functional peers and senior leadership is a must.
  • Ownership mentality: Strong bias towards action and results-oriented ownership mentality with the ability to exhibit good judgment in ambiguous situations with imperfect data. We’re looking for someone who is a “learn it all” vs. a “know it all” in this role.

Our Perks and Benefits:

  • Unlimited Vacation: We believe you can be highly productive and still have plenty of time for life outside of work.
  • Generous health benefits plan: Coverage starts from Day 1 and includes vision & dental.
    • Sprout Family: Receive personalized support for the family-building process, accessing top-quality care. Schedule a consultation with Sprout's Team for guidance, education, coaching, and assistance in finding a top provider, addressing medical, legal, or regulatory concerns throughout your journey. *Currently for Canadian Employees Only*
    • Inkblot: Access to one of Canada's leading digital mental health companies, focusing on offering secure online video counseling through our corporate mental health programs and individual counseling services*Currently for Canadian Employees Only*

  • Home Office Allowance: $500/year to ensure your home office is set up for optimal comfort and productivity.
  • Health & Wellness Allowance: $750/year to support your health & wellness related goals and hobbies.
