Overview

**This position is Remote. Candidates must reside in CA.**

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Manager, CDI is responsible for the overall management and control of the functions and activities of the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) section of the Health Information Management Department. Reports directly to the Director of HIM and actively works with the other HIM Managers to support the goals of the HIM Director and department. Maintain/improve quality, increase productivity. Performance Reviews, CDI Opportunity training. Develop new queries to increase accuracy and severity, train current team to reduce repetitive query opportunities during secondary review. Train current coding staff to reduce reliance on outside contractors. Identify trends with 3rd party audit APR-DRG changes.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: Supervisory or Managerial experience at least 2 years, Pediatric CDI experience at least 1 year, Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) with at least 5 years relevant CDI experience. Providing Training and Education to CDI staff and/or Coders of CDI opportunities highly preferred. ICD-10 Training Certification with AHIMA highly preferred. 3rd Party Audits - appeal resolution determination and Secondary Review experience required.

Education/Licensure/Certification: Must be either CCDS credentialed by ACDIS or CDIP credentialed by AHIMA. Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) preferred.

Pay Scale Information

$99,424.00-$178,963.00

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
