JOB DESCRIPTION
Within the assigned geography the Biopharma Sales Executive will call on R&D laboratories, core labs, manufacturing and production in the Biopharma segment and Clinical Research Organizations. The Biopharma Sales Executive will be the primary relationship owner for Biopharma accounts in North America and will closely partner with the regional sales leaders to drive opportunity and growth in the segment.
Territory Details: This geography will cover the Tri-State Region. The ideal location to reside will be: New York, New Jersey & Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh or Philadelphia)

Key Responsibilities
The Biopharma Sales Executive will have broad responsibilities in assisting the Sales Director, Biopharma in delivering the regional goals and priorities. They will routinely work directly with the broader sales organization and lead without authority to drive our most complex and strategic deals to fruition. They will also be responsible for working internally to help drive the overall organizational strategy in the Biopharma space.
Duties
- Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Strategic planning of activities to disrupt the existing NGS market.
- Owner of the biopharma accounts in the region with national scope where required.
- Executes and presents at technical customer seminars.
- High focus on retention, development, and execution in PromethIon accounts
- Liaises with technical applications team, internal technical support, product management and marketing stakeholders to better enable our Biopharma selling capabilities.
- Partners with internal team to drive strategic initiatives in new application areas and drive growth through large sequencing initiatives and clinical accounts.
- Focus on technically selling specific strategic applications to drive revenue and regional initiatives.
- Capable of partnering above the budget line in strategic accounts and managing accounts that may have national or global implications for the organization.
- Partners internally and attends our nationally and America's regionally focused tradeshows, conventions.
- Develop and manage the highest tier relationships and KOL’s in their region across broad fields of research interests.
- Develops best-selling practices.
- Actively participates and/or leads training sessions and demonstrate proficiency by testing or other means as assigned at session completion.
- Manage administrative duties as assigned: monitoring expenses to budget (free goods / samples), timely administrative and call reporting, funnel and competitive data entries, use and maintenance of Company assets and adhering to OHSA and Universal Lab precautions, as applicable, and all consistent with Nanopore Company policy.
What Qualifications Do We Expect. . .
- BSc degree (preferably in the Life sciences) or closely related discipline.
- 5-7+ years proven track record as a field-based commercial professional with at least 3-5 years' experience with capital equipment and/or high technology devices in the biotechnology, diagnostics or laboratory space, and at least 1-2+ years’ experience with NGS applications or comparable experience within ONT.
- Proven experience selling complex products/services utilizing a “consultative sales” approach.
- Demonstrated ability coaching and training sales professionals (either direct or indirect).
- Experience of working under pressure with minimum supervision in a highly matrixed sales and service environment.
- Experience working with CRM to track sales activity.
- The ideal location that the candidate would reside will be within the San Franciso or San Diego area.
The salary for this role is between $112,764 and $187,941 USD. The salary offered will reflect the skills and experience of the candidate.
Certain roles within ONT are eligible annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance.
