MedCore Solutions, a leading provider of healthcare solutions, is seeking an experienced CDI Coder to join our team. As a CDI Coder, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and compliant coding practices, documentation improvement, and optimal revenue capture.

Responsibilities

Review inpatient medical records to identify clinical indicators and documentation opportunities for improved coding accuracy and completeness
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to clarify and obtain additional documentation for accurate code assignment
Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, regulations, and standards
Conduct regular audits and provide education to healthcare providers on coding and documentation best practices
Participate in coding and documentation improvement projects
Stay up to date with industry changes and advancements in clinical documentation integrity and coding practices

Start Date: Immediate
Time zone: EST
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week
Weekend days off
Duration: Long term; Steady-state

Requirements

AAPC or AHIMA coding certification
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in CDI coding
Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and official coding conventions
Familiarity with MS-DRG and APR-DRG systems
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Willingness to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Amenable to work in a graveyard shift (US time zone)
