Your missions

FutureSight is seeking a dynamic, detailed-oriented and relationship-oriented executor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in startups, venture capital, private equity, or investment banking, coupled with a passion for nurturing and scaling innovative startups. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional analytical skills, and an inclination for network and community building. In addition, the candidate should possess strong mentorship abilities to guide and support our portfolio companies through their growth and capital acquisition journeys.

FutureSight is a Venture Studio co-located in Toronto and San Francisco backing world-class founders in launching B2B SaaS and Vertical AI companies. We are investing out of our 2nd fund and are looking for someone to help support our Investor Relations strategy and initiatives for FutureSight and our portfolio companies.

The candidate will support FutureSight’s leadership to raise funds, create and maintain long term relationships with Family Offices, Institutions and High Net-Worth Individuals (HNWI), as well as strategize and execute on investor engagement programs. The individual will also focus on understanding the US venture capital, retail investor and crowdfunding landscape while enabling the organization’s and our ventures’ relationships with these funding partners.

This is a hybrid position based out of our downtown Toronto office.

Requirements

  • Fund Investor Outreach and Engagement:
    • Plan and execute Limited Partner (LP) and prospective investor events (quarterly and annual, in-person or virtual).
    • Support marketing efforts, content creation, and sales outreach campaigns to new investors.
    • Identify speaking engagements and relevant conferences for the Leadership Team.
    • Create and update presentation decks and marketing materials for events and roadshows.
    • Track and update investor information in the CRM system.
  • Venture Capital Partnerships:
    • Support and eventually lead the capital acquisition strategy for FutureSight portfolio companies.
    • Validate the investability of new ventures in the studio.
    • Research and deliver capital readiness programs for CEOs and founders.
    • Identify and engage industry experts and active venture capital investors.
    • Assist with identifying and reaching out to target investors for early-stage ventures.
    • Lead outreach and networking for new angel and VC partnerships.
    • Introduce founders to investors in our network.
    • Track partnership information in the CRM system.
    • Help founders secure non-dilutive awards.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of investor relations, community building, platform, sales operations/enablement or similar experience
  • Venture capital, startup or investment banking experience is preferred
  • Deep hunger for learning about venture capital and startup success
  • Experience with CRMs is a plus
  • Strong understanding of business is required
  • Knowledge of the technology/startup space
  • Self-motivated and driven with willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation (both virtual and in person)
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management, organizational skills, and process management.
  • Comfort with joining and leading calls with external stakeholders
  • Outstanding judgment around confidential and/or sensitive information 
  • Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint and Google Slides 
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
