Your missions

Clear is seeking a Payroll Officer to work with our client, an Australian-based labour-hire company, recruiting a mix of local workers, backpackers, and seasonal workers for their various clients who are farmers or farmland owners/producers.

Role and Opportunity

Your role is to work with our client’s payroll team providing accurate processing of payroll and timesheets in a timely manner for their various clients in the agriculture industry.

Backed with more than 30 years of experience in the recruitment industry the client is committed to providing the farmers with greater labour certainty and increased efficiency. As a payroll officer, you are to provide payroll services where attention to detail and analytical skills are highly expected.

Purpose

As an offshore Payroll officer, you will:

  • Be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of payments
  • Process payments to staff and charges to clients within the business’ temporary workforce
  • Encourage to demonstrate initiative while keeping in mind the overall business objective.

Your daily tasks will include:

  • Preparing weekly payroll in an accurate and timely manner and in line with the appropriate Industrial Instrument
  • Ensuring all timesheets, payroll changes, records, and other related material is received prior to the close of the payroll run
  • Accurate data entry for the ongoing maintenance of the payroll data within the pay system and employment records, including the processing of new starter information or changes to existing employee records and other related information
  • Sending electronic payslips to temps and casual employees
  • Maintaining electronic filing systems for data retention
  • Attending to enquiries relating to the payroll and ensuring an appropriate level of customer service by responding accurately and in a timely manner either verbally or in writing as required
  • Reconciliation and reporting on financial data relating to payroll as required
  • Requesting a list of payrolls for special and late runs
  • Performing other tasks as required by the client or management.

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum of 1-year experience in payroll
  • Graduate of any Accounting/Finance or related courses
  • With an accounting background
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications such as Outlook, Teams, Word, OneDrive
  • Exposure to handling Australian accounts is an advantage
