Job description

Scout Motors

Here at Scout Motors, we're carrying forward the heritage of one of the most iconic American vehicles in history. A vehicle dating back to 1960. One that forged the path for future generations of rugged SUVs and will do so once again.

But Scout is more than just a brand, it’s a legacy steeped in a culture of exploration, caretaking, and hard work.

Scout is all about respect.  Respect for the environment by developing electric vehicles with the capability to get you to any location.  Respect for the past and the future by taking an iconic American brand that hasn’t been around for a while, electrifying it, digitizing it, and loading it with American innovation.  Respect for communities by creating a company that stands for its people and its customers.  And respect for both work and play, with vehicles that are equally at home at a camp site, a job site, or on a Tuesday commute.

At Scout Motors, we empower our talented, inclusive, and entrepreneurial teams to innovate. What makes a Scout? Someone who is a visionary and a leader, who seeks new paths and shares lessons learned. A knowledgeable doer who collaborates across the company to build better. A go-getter with unrivaled passion.

Join us at Scout Motors and be part of shaping the future of transportation. If you're ready to drive change and make history, apply now!

What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Participate in a sales planning governance process that includes the relevant stakeholders from Scout Production, Finance, Sales, and the retail network, complies with stakeholder lead-time requirements, and enables the company to make data-driven sales planning decisions.
  • Create, document, and manage the Scout sales and volume plan of record, owning official plan submission and all future-looking scenario planning optimized for high-level company priorities and objectives.
  • In coordination with Scout IT and Scout Production, identify and define the IT and systems requirements and functional capabilities necessary to facilitate the sales and production planning process, including the creation and documentation of all forecasts and production plans, establishment of buildable configurations, and management of production orders. Drive the activities necessary to stand up the necessary systems and forecasts in time for all required sales planning deadlines.
  • In coordination with Scout Digital Products and Scout Production, define and administer the process to transition customer reservations to new, customer-specific vehicle orders, and then to a scheduled production plan.
  • In coordination with Scout Digital Products, Production, and Vehicle Logistics, define and administer an order-matching process to connect Scout reservations with immediately available or soon-to-be produced Scout vehicle inventory.

Vehicle Distribution

  • Together with Vehicle Logistics, support the establishment and administration of a repeatable and scalable methodology by which Scout vehicles can be efficiently distributed from the factory to inventory storage sites, retail locations, and various operations hubs in preparation for retail sale.
  • In conjunction with Vehicle Logistics, create and implement distribution processes that contemplate and appropriately account for the distribution of non-retail vehicles, such as corporate vehicles, loaner vehicles, mobile repair units, and fleet vehicles.
  • In coordination with Scout Vehicle Logistics and Scout Digital Products, define and administer flexible processes that can, when needed, accelerate delivery of sold units to optimize profitability, inventory levels, and company business objectives.
  • Create and manage market-level inventory targets including quantities, model mix, trim and option mix, and color. Use these dynamic targets as a basis for informing and filling any available production slots not scheduled for customer orders.
