At Syntegon Technology K.K. (Japan) we provide a wide range of services to meet customer needs, including sales of domestically manufactured and imported machines for the Japanese pharmaceutical and food markets, as well as packaging materials, validation, and comprehensive services. Our plant is located in Saitama (~50min train ride from Tokyo) with around 100 passionate colleagues.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced mechanical engineer as local hiring at Syntegon Technology K.K. (Japan). As Japan is the global inspection hub of Syntegon Technology, the focus lies on our local pharmaceutical inspection machines.

Your tasks:

  • Developing the (process) design competence of the mechanical engineering team
  • Work in the mechanical design of customer projects and R&D tasks
  • Giving on-the-job training to junior engineers
  • Monitoring the daily engineering quality and reducing defects
  • Leading the standardization, especially for inspection stations, reject stations, infeed and outfeed, as well as general modularization

Qualifications

Your profile:

  • A degree in the field of mechanical engineering, mechatronics or a similar technical major
  • A minimum of 5 years professional experience as an engineer in mechanical design
  • You have extensive experience with 3D CAD and ERP systems (Solidworks, SAP)
  • Interested in the local culture and able to adapt to the local working environment
  • Independent, creative and motivated way of working
  • Willingness to take on responsibility and grow personally
  • Good communication skills

Preferred profile:

  • Working experience in a Japanese company (or overseas, preferably Asia) 
  • Optimistic, able to work under pressure
  • Experience in training engineers
  • Experience in Standardization and Modularization of special machinery
  • Experience in pharma machinery design
