This role is part of the department in charge of the efficacy substantiation of ingredients in the field of skin care within Evonik’s Research, Development and Innovation department. This strategic role is leading the activities of scientific valorization. The responsible person ensures the connection between market needs, innovation and product positioning. The strategic role will be at the cross road between new product development, biological evaluation and marketing/business development by being in charge of the product valorization through biological positioning and scientific story telling. The product valorization includes driving the positioning of new and existing products and tailoring the strategy for claim substantiation accordingly. This role has a close link to the market trends as new positioning needs to be evolving with the market needs and requirements from customers and consumers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Be responsible of the overall strategy of biological claim development for active and functional ingredients
Create and implement a strategy for product positioning and associated claim substantiationEnsure an innovative positioning of our product portfolio by analyzing and reviewing existing products and proposing new positioning
Coordinate with the biological and clinical efficacy departments at different sites (Europe, Asia) globally to align on the strategy to facilitate future story telling
Identify future market needs and how to create claims to respond to these trends by working closely with the in vitro laboratories and clinical evaluation teamAnalyze and identify new market trends in terms of biological positioning to allow new method and model development

Work closely with colleagues from different departments such as Applied Innovation, RDI, marketing, regulatory etc. to support in the product positioning

Design, implement and coordinate a global and proactive scientific communication strategy to ensure the expert positioning associated with the Evonik Skin Institute

Drive scientific communication allowing to strengthen the branding of the Evonik Skin Institute externally and internally

Participate to external representation during expert conferences

Support in direct customer interactions for co-innovation and co-development projects in an international environment

Participate and contribute actively in customer meetings with biological positioning by cooperating closely with the global business developers and key account managers

REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree or PhD in skin biology, cosmetic sciences or related field.
At least 7 years of experience in scientific communication, product valorization, cosmetic active ingredients or efficacy testing.
Passion for scientific communication and translating innovation into products and concepts.
Experience in scientific conferences, interactions with Key Opinion Leaders and with science-rooted customers.
Fluent English, both written and spoken.
Team spirit and ability to work in an international team with different fields of expertise.
