D-STAR is a Pernod Ricard digital product, enriched with data science and machine learning, used to empower sales teams with the right actionable insights and recommendations, allowing us to deploy the right resources, at the right time, and in the right accounts.

D-STAR is also a key component of the Group’s Sales Transformation (STAR), aiming to transform our commercial model by accelerating tech and data-powered initiatives, designing new customer engagement models, and building on the entrepreneurial mindset of our sales teams.

Job purpose:

The Product Ownership intern will play a key role by supporting the D-STAR Product team, and specifically the D-STAR Product Owners, in day-to-day activities:

  • You will help coordinate and prepare for key meetings, agile rituals, and updates
  • You will liaise with all the different stakeholders as needed to ensure focus on key delivery items, as validated in sprint plannings
  • You will support discovery streams by helping identify synergies, interdependencies & prerequisites between all relevant initiatives
  • You will ensure that the technical achievements and data science models are consistent with the business objectives and needs.

Main responsibilities:

1. Assist the D-STAR Product Team in day-to-day activities

  • Support the D-STAR Product team, and specifically D-STAR Product Owners, in day-to-day activities
  • Prepare content (memos, presentations, analyses, …) for key meetings and agile rituals
  • Help run certain rituals (representing the Product Owner), especially sprint grooming sessions, ‘Run’ mode monthly meetings with market teams, …
  • Assist Product Owners in the definition of user stories (features) and in the backlog management process
  • Drive discussions and investigations on specific initiatives linked to delivery or product discovery
  • Help gather information to help Product Owners prioritize initiatives based on value/effort scoring

2. Help connect D-STAR Product initiatives to other functions or Sales Transformation streams

  • Provide assistance and coordination on certain specific initiatives:
    • D-STAR Global Newsletter
    • Connections between D-STAR and SFA integration streams (NEO, Convivio, …)
    • Help drive interactions with other Digital Acceleration teams, especially other Product Owners
    • D-STAR communication roadmap
    • Coordination with other Sales Transformation streams to facilitate discussions and collect information

Past experience:

  • Must-haves:
    • Previous professional experience in a tech company, consulting company, or a multinational company in a complex matrixial organization context
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel, …) and capacity to deliver content in efficient and agile manner
    • Familiarity with Agile ways-of-working and tools
    • Ability to work in a multicultural team
    • Fluent in English
  • Nice-to-have:
    • Experience in digital product ownership and business-oriented software & data science projects
    • Understanding of sales processes, especially in Consumer Goods industry
    • Basic data science/machine learning knowledge and understanding
    • Python, advanced Excel a plus
