The Role:

 The North America Logistics Procurement specialist will analyze, develop, negotiate and maintain contracts for transportation services partnering closely with functional leaders to understand requirements for current and future roadmaps. This position will lead the category management function to ethically and professionally procure transportation , and brokerage services  associated with Logistics, while meeting the quality standards and specifications established at the best total value of acquisition.

  • Lead logistics procurement and supply chain aspects for the domestic North America footprint with cross-functional teams.

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate capabilities, and select suitable vendors based on cost, quality, and delivery time.

  • Analyze, develop and recommend continuous improvements for the North America  logistics network based on sustainability, quality , delivery and cost. 

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, ensuring open communication and collaboration. 

  • Negotiate contracts and terms for the best pricing, quality, and service. Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Drive initiatives for process development and redesign to optimize carrying cost, operational cost, obsolescence cost, sustainability and service levels.

  • Oversee the end-to-end procurement process from requisition processing to receipt verification. Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.

  • Support project management teams in understanding and complying with their contractual obligations.

  • Provide direct contract and commercial support to the procurement team lead in drafting and implementing contract renewals, amendments, and strategies.

  • Work with bid teams, lead commercial responses for pricing and contractual elements in tenders, review contractual terms and conditions, and ensure company liabilities and legal obligations are defined and communicated.

  • Perform client, partner, and subcontractor due diligence where appropriate.

  • Identify potential risks in procurement and contracting processes, develop mitigation strategies, monitor market trends, and proactively address potential disruptions.

  • Ensure compliance with company best practices, and undertake periodic contract audits and reviews.

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients and internal support functions.

Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team: 

  • Proficiency in data analysis , tableau , Google and Microsoft Office (AI skills an advantage)

  • Experience with sustainable logistics practices a plus

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.

  • Analytical mindset with data analysis, trend identification, and data-driven decision-making skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

  • High ethical standards and commitment to integrity in procurement practices.

  • Drafting and negotiating skills for terms and conditions and contract schedules.

  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply chain management, or a related field, relevant certifications a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.

 This position offers an annual base salary typically between $ 74,300 - $ 113,00 depending on location and experience

 

In certain circumstances, higher compensation will be considered based on the business need, candidate experience, and skills.
