ROLE: Property Accountant

REPORTS TO:           Lead, Property Accounting

LOCATION: Remote / Corporate Office in Richmond Hill (Hybrid)

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Venterra Realty is a well-capitalized, privately held investment and technology company with ~ $5.0 billion in managed assets and $375+ million in revenues. It owns and operates over 80 multi-unit residential properties in the highest growth cities in the United States.

We are honoured to have received numerous workplace recognitions including Fortune Top 100 Best Medium Workplaces for the past six years in a row and having been named a four-time Glassdoor Best Places to Work winner!

We are looking for people who:

  • Have strong personal values and want to work for a values-based company.
  • Are ambitious and hardworking with exceptionally high personal standards.
  • Embrace problem-solving and learning new skills.
  • Thrive in a rapidly changing and high growth environment.
  • Are passionate about driving continuous improvements and the use of technology with data to drive business results.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Venterra is building a high-performance accounting and finance team focused on delivering financial insight and value-added analysis. We are blurring the lines of finance and technology to support the company’s rapid growth and expansion efforts. Our organization is in the fortunate position of attracting investment capital and using our track record to grow our business and deliver value to our investors and residents.

Our Property Accounting group is seeking a Property Accountant (PA) who will report to our Property Accounting Lead. The PA will join the organization at an opportune time where we are well-capitalized, expanding into new asset classes and evaluating new geographies. Venterra is looking for someone who has an aptitude for financial accounting, passion for technology, and willing to roll-up their sleeves to drive process improvement and streamline existing workflow. Our Property Accounting group is on an exciting journey where routine accounting tasks are disappearing, the month end cycle is getting shorter, and technology is being embedded in everything we do. You will have the opportunity to deliver high quality financial reporting to management, work with technology, and build your accounting, audit, and US tax acumen to support investor needs.

Within our accounting and finance team you will be exposed to strong leaders who have a passion for the business and a relentless drive towards excellence. As you tackle new challenges and grow your skills, you will have the opportunity to expand your responsibilities as the business continues to flourish in an ever-changing external environment.

The Property Accountant role is also a pre-approved position with CPA Ontario that allows CPA students to satisfy all of their CPA Practical Experience Requirements.
