Purpose
Clickatell is looking for a change champion to drive Clickatell’s Data Vision to the next level of Data 
Ecosystem. We are currently transforming our business model, and Data is pivotal in this transformation. We 
are looking for obsession and passion, we are looking for an enabler and a trainer, an innovator and a 
team player. 


The right person will have a practical knowledge of Cloud data platforms and a very good knowledge of 
next generation Data concepts and technologies – think Data Meshing and Economy of Data. Together 
with the Data Engineering Lead, and DBA Lead this role is essential to continue advancing our modern 
data foundation that will simplify and catapult the use of Gen-AI on behave of both external and internal 
business cases.

Responsibilities of the Role
o Accountable for accelerating the adoption of Clickatell’s Reference Data Architecture while 
   providing data architecture direction and delivering required architectural artifacts – Conceptual, 
   Logical & Physical Data Models. 
o Provide data architecture and 3-level modelling direction for ongoing and new development 
   projects in alignment with Clickatell’s Data Strategy and Business Value preposition. 
o Responsible for the design of highly scalable and reusable patterns of data ingestion and processing 
   that will transform and enrich a variety of datasets into reusable and scalable assets. 
o Assess current AWS based solutions (performance and cost) and design and rollout new Data 
   Services in favour of Clickatell’s Data Domain Architecture.o Provide subject matter expertise and technical leadership on the data architecture disciplines while 
   ensuring all solutions are documented and communicated effectively to both, Data and Application 
   Development teams. 
o Work closely with the Database Management, Engineering and BI and Analytics teams in the 
   adoption of latest AI trends to optimize their functions and data products. 
o Contribute to the continuous upskilling and coaching of the DATA team members while embracing 
   cutting edge technology trends, and champion their rollout and adoption
o Perform problem resolution and root cause analysis along with recommending and implementing 
   preventative techniques.
o Protect Clickatell’s information, intellectual property and corporate data systems in accordance with 
   prescribed guidelines

Requirements of the Role
o B-Tech or bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, informatics or math.
Work Experience
o Experience and knowledge of AWS Big Data services. Athena, Redshift, Kinesis, Kafka, 
Glue, S3, Lake Formation
o A strong understanding of various database technologies, such as SQL databases (e.g., 
   PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra), is 
   essential.
o Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala is often required for 
   developing custom data solutions and automation scripts.
o Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and related ecosystem 
   components is valuable for handling and processing large volumes of data.
o Understanding data visualization tools - Power BI an asset
o Experience with incremental delivery - Agile and Scrum framework. 
o Hands on experience leading large-scale global data warehousing and analytics projects.
o Experience with complicated account hierarchy, security groups, VPCs, AWS managed 
   services, S3, ELB, EC2 Auto Scaling, Lambda
o A background working in a high-volume payment transaction environment, or mobile 
   technology platforms and systems integration would be advantageous and be able to 
   demonstrate a sustained track record of delivering high-quality outputs, on-time and to 
   product or business specifications.

o Relevant knowledge in different development, database and business intelligence tools, 
   techniques and environments to develop and deliver quality applications and 
   documentation.
o Complete familiarity with Agile and traditional methods, particularly Waterfall, Scrum and 
   Kanban
o Have problem solving skills, logical thinking and analytical abilities. 
o Display foresight be systematic and provide orderly planning and have attention to detail.
