Role Description:

The Requirements Engineer is a member of the team of software professionals responsible for the analysis, design, programming, testing and maintenance of the Clinisys software products. He/she delivers quality analysis that meets the standards and expectations of the company, customers and other stakeholders. He/she has a good analytic-synthetic mind and is able to translate it into a comprehensible framework for colleagues and team members.

The Requirements Engineer possesses large general Clinisys software product knowledge and is an expert in his/her domain and assigned products. Can work completely independently and is often assigned complex and mission critical problems. The Requirements Engineer is responsible for identifying and collecting the functional needs of Clinisys customers by working closely with the Product Manager and Product Owner, by attending user groups, visiting customers... Translating requirements into a functional design is the main task and expertise, so the development team has the required input to build the required software first time right.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate customers’ needs into a functional design based on the requirements provided by product management.
  • Take initiative to have the functional design challenged/validated.
  • Clarify the functional design to the development and test team.
  • Collaborate with the product manager, sales, customer services, support, user groups and the customers themselves to fully understand the needs.
  • Be proactive in building up relationships with the above stakeholders.
  • Deliver according to the agreed timelines, requirements and quality.
  • Collaborate with the test team on test cases and scenarios that cover the functional design, by preference prior to the start of the developments
  • Collaborate with the technical authoring team so the functional specifications are included in the end user manuals and release notes.
  • Effectively prioritizes the requirements backlog to address functional and non-functional needs and to provide accuracy and predictability of delivery.
  • Understand data structures and data flow between systems.
  • Ability to represent product workflows and requirements in appropriate visual or graphical representations (i.e. process flow diagram, data flowchart, wireframes, low fidelity prototypes, etc.)
  • Gain a strong product knowledge and understanding of the healthcare market, client business drivers, and user personas.
  • Understanding of approaches used to identify, prioritize, and mitigate risks to reduce or eliminate potential threats to patient safety or the business.
  • Willing to travel in Europe (25-35% a month)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Master or Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent through experience
  • Master of Bachelor Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent through experience
  • Background in biomedical science or medical technical lab technician is required
  • Experience in a software product environment
  • Experience with LIS or LIMS is an advantage
  • Experience with analysis methodologies (e.g. BDD – Behaviour Driven Development)
  • Software development environments and processes
  • Knowledge of the French private pathology market and workflows
  • Knowledge of the French public and private billing workflows (e.g. FSE, Noemie,…)
  • Knowledge of Interoperability standards, such as HL7, Phir, DICOM, … is a very big plus
  • Fluent in both French and English. Knowledge of Dutch not required but nice as additional language
