Job description

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom around the world, and we couldn’t do this without hiring the best people. We’re a group of hard-working overachievers who are deeply focused on building the future of finance and Web3 for our users across the globe, whether they’re trading, storing, staking or using crypto. Know those people who always lead the group project? That’s us.

There are a few things we look for across all hires we make at Coinbase, regardless of role or team. First, we look for candidates who will thrive in a culture like ours, where we default to trust, embrace feedback, and disrupt ourselves. Second, we expect all employees to commit to our mission-focused approach to our work. Finally, we seek people who are excited to learn about and live crypto, because those are the folks who enjoy the intense moments in our sprint and recharge work culture. We’re a remote-first company looking to hire the absolute best talent all over the world.

Who you are:

  • You’ve got positive energy. You’re optimistic about the future and determined to get there.
  • You’re never tired of learning. You want to be a pro in bleeding edge tech like DeFi, NFTs, DAOs, and Web 3.0.
  • You appreciate direct communication. You’re both an active communicator and an eager listener - because let’s face it, you can’t have one without the other. You’re cool with candid feedback and see every setback as an opportunity to grow.
  • You can pivot on the fly. Crypto is constantly evolving, so our priorities do, too. What you worked on last month may not be what you work on today, and that excites you. You’re not looking for a boring job.
  • You have a “can do” attitude. Our teams create high-quality work on quick timelines. Owning a problem doesn’t scare you, but rather empowers you to take 100% responsibility for achieving our mission.
  • You want to be part of a winning team. We’re stronger together, and you’re a person who embraces being pushed out of your comfort zone.

Our world class Talent team builds the foundation of our success by finding and hiring extraordinary people that share our vision. We are looking for a talent engagement specialist to help us optimize the way we attract and engage talent across all of our hiring channels, especially public channels that drive traffic to our Careers page.  You will partner across every facet of the Talent team in order to understand where our best hires are coming from and how our hiring channels operate today, and then create a strategy to get even more top talent to join the company.  If you thrive through building, experimentation, data-driven decision making, and optimization, this is the role for you!

What You'll Be Doing (i.e., Job Duties):

  • Explore and experiment with new and unconventional sources of talent to strengthen the candidate pool.
  • Enhance and execute Coinbase's talent networking and mapping strategy, building a robust network of potential candidates.
  • Develop and implement innovative lead generation strategies to maintain a strong pipeline of top talent.
  • Manage a referral program to leverage existing employees’ networks, ensuring a steady flow of referred candidates.
  • Oversee and expand a gamified talent attraction program to incentivize external talent to participate in Coinbase’s hiring process.
  • Formulate and execute a strategic plan for job postings across various platforms, ensuring optimal visibility and reach.
  • Innovate and implement effective screener strategies, such as using ENS addresses, to streamline the candidate screening process.
  • Participate in candidate research and insight-gathering activities to inform recruitment strategies and enhance candidate engagement.
  • Perform competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and best practices in talent acquisition.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitive employer brands, and best practices to ensure Coinbase's talent acquisition strategy remains innovative and effective.
  • Provide metrics analysis support to measure the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and link initiatives to measurable results.
  • Ensure all candidate interactions are consistent, accessible, understandable, actionable, and engaging across all touchpoints.

What We Look For In You (ie. Job Requirements):

  • Active member and contributor to the web3 community with onchain experience is a requirement.
  • 5+ years of experience in talent acquisition or sourcing.
  • 3+ years of experience in program management or community building.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with HR technology platforms and tools.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing professional achievements in talent acquisition and network building.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Good quantitative and deductive skills, with the ability to support data-driven decisions.

Nice to haves:

  • Fluency using common recruiting systems such as Greenhouse, LinkedIn, etc. to pull data and derive insights
