Connect for Health has a great opportunity for a Senior IT Systems Engineer.


Connect for Health Colorado is a public, non-profit entity established by the Colorado General Assembly in 2011 to create a health insurance Marketplace. Since 2013, we’ve been helping individuals, families and small employers compare plans, apply for financial help and buy health insurance. As Colorado’s official health insurance marketplace, we are the only place to apply for financial help to lower the monthly cost of premiums. Customers can shop online; get help by phone or online chat from Customer Service Center representatives; and access expert help from a statewide network of certified Brokers and community-based Assisters. Position Summary:


As a member of the Architecture team, The Senior IT Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting the company infrastructure, applications with business processes and operations. The Senior IT Systems Engineer also plans, conducts and directs the analysis of business problems with automated systems solutions. Other functions include user and workstation management, analyzing, installing, modifying and supporting operating systems, databases, and utilities software.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Evaluate existing systems and provide technical direction to IT support staff.
  • Oversee the development of customized software and hardware requirements.
  • Plan and implement systems automation as required for better efficiency.
  • Work with the Security Team to formulate and design the security system to maintain data safety.
  • Focus on workflows, optimization methods, and risk management tools for Design, implementation, and ongoing      management of the Okta Identity and Access management platform.
  • Single Sign-On (SSO) Integration: Integrate applications and systems with Okta for seamless single sign-on experiences. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SSO integrations. 
  • Assist in developing and maintaining documentation for supported applications, processes, and training material to internal employees and IT staff.
  • Identity Lifecycle Management: Manage the complete lifecycle of user identities, including provisioning, de-provisioning, and access modifications. Implement and maintain automated workflows for user onboarding and offboarding.
  • Develop tooling, scripting and processes to facilitate end-user asset management, provisioning and tracking given projects.
  • Create and manage access policies to improve security and adhere to compliance standards.
  • Manage and oversee Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions to provide a seamless and secure VDI experience. Collaborate with end-users and IT teams to troubleshoot reported VDI issues and ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with Security/IT teams to coordinate IT policies.
  • Build policies and scripts using vendor APIs to support company owned devices and SaaS services such as Google Workspace, Slack and Zoom.
  • Participate in general IT operations including check in meetings and Open Enrollment calls as needed.
  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships with internal teams to drive initiatives.
  • Oversee and provide operations support including account management, workflow, log analysis, troubleshooting and service optimization.
  • Develop system-monitoring and support automation to enhance and scale the quality of support.
  • Provide emergency response either by being on-call or by reacting to symptoms according to monitoring and escalation when needed.
  • Supervise a project’s systems engineering events as performed by the technical team.
  • Assess and calculate the technical features of IT project plans to ensure that the systems engineering procedures are operating correctly.
  • Implement and maintain the computer systems so they are compliant with the organization’s guidelines or SOP (Standards Operating Procedure).
  • Monitor and manage all installed systems and infrastructure.
  • Establish, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Ensure a rapid response to any technical issues.
Requirements

  

  • Colorado resident.
  • 10+ Years of IT Field Experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in user support in a cloud-first modern IT environment
  • 4+ years of experience in IT in a high growth Software as a service (SaaS) environment
  • Experience with log management tools such as Splunk and ElasticSearch and/or security information and event management (SIEM) tools
  • Knowledge of OKTA identity and access management
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Web Development or a related field is preferred.

  

Work Environment:

  • Currently working remotely
  • The Connect for Health Colorado office is in the North Tech Center area of Denver, near the intersection of I-25 and I-225
  • The work schedule may include some non-traditional hours, weekends and evening events.
  • Core office hours, typically 8am-5pm with some flexibility

Connect for Health Colorado offers a competitive benefits package. Connect for Health Colorado employees are eligible to participate in the organization’s 403(b) plan and are additionally provided with paid time off, short- and long-term disability and life insurance. The salary range for the position is $104,200 - $139,000.
