Your missions

Summary

The Engineer, Cloud III will design, deploy, and manage large scale complex cloud infrastructure solutions that meet our business needs. You will be responsible for developing technical strategies to meet business objectives and ensure that cloud infrastructure aligns with industry standards and best practices. You will mentor Cloud Engineers Level I and II to deliver high-quality services and solutions to our business.

Essential Job Functions

  • Design, deploy and manage large-scale cloud infrastructure solutions using cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Develop technical strategies that meet business objectives, considering performance, security, and budget.
  • Mentor Cloud Engineers Level I and II, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with the Development, DevOps, and Security teams to ensure that cloud infrastructure is optimized for application performance and security.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory compliance standards and industry best practices.
  • Conduct architecture review and assessments of cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and trends and recommend adoption where appropriate.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education

Education and/or Experience :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field; or equivalent years' experience in system administration, engineering, or cloud operations role.
  • Five (5) + years' experience system administration, engineering, or cloud operations role.
  • Experience supporting production workloads\services primarily in AWS and secondary Azure Platforms.
  • Experience with the deployment and use of instrumentation, monitoring and logging systems.
  • Experience in diagnosing and trouble-shooting complex production issues.
  • Proficiency in provisioning and configuring infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools using Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Responsible for writing and reviewing codes and also contributing to all technical discussions.
  • Some containerization and container orchestration expertise with technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS\EKS.
  • Strong expertise of the DevOps culture, practices, and tools.
  • The ability to review and provide input on cost optimizing of AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
  • Ability to create highly available, secure, cost effective and performant auto-scaling systems.
  • Strong ownership, urgency, and drive to launch and maintain services.
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, and analytical skills.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to team members.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science or an Engineering discipline, preferred.
  • Familiarity with common identity services, constructs, and protocols, such as IAM, OAuth, OpenID, AD DS, LDAP, ADFS, and SAML, preferred.
  • High degree of knowledge of networking concepts and experience with Software-Defined Networking, preferred.
  • Understanding of network security including firewalls, WAF, IDS, IPS, and DDoS protection, preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

AWS SysOps Administrator, AWS DevOps Engineer, and AWS Advanced Networking Specialty certifications a plus.
