Beem Credit Union is seeking a dynamic VP of Information Security to join our team. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, this role is instrumental in ensuring the security of our organization's information and data. Collaborating with IT, Innovation, Risk, and Privacy executives, you'll drive the effectiveness of our security program. What you’ll do:
- Responsible for the strategic leadership of the company’s Information Security program.
- Implements programs and projects to mitigate risk while sharing IT responsibility for strategic initiatives and change (i.e. robust products and services).
- Monitors and oversees incident response, investigations, forensics and disaster recovery when a data or security breach occurs while utilizing resources for maximum efficiency.
- Educates and informs senior management on potential security threats, coordinating response and recovery efforts where a breach occurs.
- Leads cyber security operations - real-time analysis of immediate threats, triaging and communicating in a timely and effective manner to the right parties making meaning of network or systems activity.
- Partner with business leadership, and other departments to remediate security flaws in infrastructure, system design and application security.
- Aligning security strategies to corporate goals, consults on or raises potential security issues that might arise from business plans Maintains up to date knowledge, on current and emerging trends and threats; educates stakeholders on evolving security vulnerabilities.
- Works to prevent data loss and inhibit fraud or theft both internally and externally; oversees cybersecurity training.
- Oversees security architecture: Planning, buying, and rolling out security hardware and software, and making sure IT and network infrastructure is designed with best security practices in mind.
- Develops protocols for identity and access management: Ensuring that only authorized people have access to restricted data and systems.
- Build and lead a high-performing team of enterprise data professionals, providing mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning to attract, retain, and motivate top talent.
A little about your qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or a related field; a technical master's degree with a security focus is preferred.
- 7-12 years of experience in Information Systems, with at least 5-7 years in management within the Financial Services sector.
- Profound understanding of security protocols and system architecture, including DNS, routing, authentication, VPN, proxy services, DDOS mitigation technologies, coding practices, ethical hacking, threat modeling, firewall, and intrusion detection/prevention protocols.
- Superior knowledge of Compliance and Risk standards such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, GLBA, GDPR, and SOX.
- Strong business acumen, strategic vision, and the ability to translate technology trends into actionable insights that drive business value.
- Experience with agile methodologies and practices, demonstrating the ability to foster agility and responsiveness in infrastructure operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Experience in managing vendor relationships and strategic partnerships, prioritizing value and innovation.

- Competitive base salary; reviewed annually. The salary range for this position is $177,300 to $216,700.
