Storage and Backup Architect

Our client, a leading global IT service provider,is recruiting for a Storage and Backup Architect to join their business in Germany.

Job Description:

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of professional experience as a storage and backup architect or in a similar position.
  

• Expertise: In-depth knowledge of storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, DAS, cloud storage, and object storage.
  

• Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of backup software, data protection strategies, and disaster recovery planning.
  

• Good knowledge of Ransomware Protection / Recovery technologies
  

• Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication
  

• Good project management skills. 
  

• Very good English communication skills.
  

• German would be advantageous.
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Implementation and Integration: Leading and overseeing the implementation and integration of storage and backup solutions into the existing IT infrastructure.
  

• Documentation and Training: Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of storage and backup infrastructure, and training employees on their usage.
  

• Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing a comprehensive storage and backup strategy that aligns with business requirements and future growth goals.
  

• Architectural Solutions: Designing and implementing scalable, highly available, and secure storage and backup solutions using industry-leading technologies.
  

• Evaluation and Selection: Assessing and selecting storage hardware, backup software, and data protection solutions based on specific requirements and budget.
  

• Optimization and Performance: Optimizing storage and backup performance to ensure system efficiency and reliability.
  

• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Identifying and resolving storage and backup issues to minimize system disruptions and data loss.
  

Recommended Qualifications :

• Multiple years of experience in +Storage management operation, capacity planning and concepts
  

• SAN: HPE XP / Hitachi VSP
  

• NAS: NetApp
  

• Sync/async replication.
  

• Snapshots / Recovery + Backup / recovery operation and concepts
  

• Data Protector
  

• VMware Image backup
  

• HPE StoreOnce
  

• Immutability
  

• Bare Metal restore + Disaster Recovery concepts.
  

• VMware SRM
  

• 3rd site replication
  

• Vaulting
  

Hot StandBy

• Certifications in storage technologies such as HPE Storage are required, VMware vSAN, Veeam Backup & Replication, NetApp ONTAP, etc., are advantageous.
