The Opportunity:

The Principal Architect, Data Engineering will play pivotal role in shaping the Interos' data landscape. This hands-on team member will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of data systems, ensuring scalability, security, and performance. Responsibilities include formulating data strategy, overseeing database management, ensuring compliance with data governance policies, and fostering a collaborative data culture.

Essential Functions/Duties:

  • Develop and maintain the overall data strategy to support the product roadmap and vision.
  • Design and implement data architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
  • Design mult-tenant solutions which securely persist customer and Interos data.
  • Oversee database design, optimization, and maintenance.
  • Evaluate the database spend and implement improvements for cost optimization while ensuring data consistency, integrity, and availability.
  • Work across engineering and business units to establish a data center of excellence.
  • Monitor compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, CCPAIL5).
  • Define data quality standards and implement data cleansing processes.
  • Design procedures to recover critical data to ensure business continuity.
  • Implement big data technologies and practices for large-scale data processing.
  • Define the architecture in order to support a forward-looking cloud strategy to support the company’s growth.
  • Develop and implement incident response plans for data pipelines. 
  • Establish and maintain effective monitoring and alerting systems for timely detection and response to security incidents. 
  • Work closely with technology and product leadership on project and process improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate security requirements and best practices effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders. 


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience as a Data and AI Engineering within technology or consulting sector.
  • Extensive experience with Snowflake and AWS Postgres.
  • Experience with Kafka
  • Snowpro Core Certification minimum. SnowPro Advanced Architect or Data Engineer a plus.
  • Proficiency in DevOps principles and practices.
  • Strong knowledge of ETL, orchestration, and data integration.
  • Data Clean Room experience a plus.
  • Data Pipeline monitoring tools (e.g. Monte Carlo) a plus.
  • Ability to create business cases for data architecture development.
  • Experience evaluating database technologies and proposing solutions to senior management.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to take teams through change through communication and managing by influence

  • Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers.
  • Physical Demands: This is largely a sedentary role. Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 5 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.
  • Compensation range is base salary of $142,500-$237,500. The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
