Job Description: 

We are currently seeking candidates for teaching at the School of Computer and Information Sciences (CIS), specifically in the subfield of Gaming. Under the direction of the Director of UC Online and School of CIS Leadership, this position is responsible for teaching gaming courses. This position contributes to the fulfillment of the mission of the University in offering quality academic programs with Christian values to students of all backgrounds.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and/or teaching the following courses:
    • ITGS 130 Introduction to Game Development
    • ITGS 231 Fundamentals of Interactive/UX Design
    • ITGS 233 Essentials of Gamification
    • ITGS 330 Human-Computer Interaction
    • ITGS 431 Games for Learning & Simulation
    • ITGS 435 Advanced Multi-Player
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the UC Online and School of CIS and throughout the university.
  • Adapt and align course materials using departmental syllabus templates, required text(s), and other resources.
  • Provide regular and timely feedback on student work.
  • Maintain regular communication with students through virtual office hours and e-mail.
  • Maintain clear, consistent records in iLearn (Blackboard) and Workday.
  • Participate in department-wide assessments.
  • Respond to student evaluations.
  • Follow university policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s in Information Technology, Computer Science, Programming or closely related field with Gaming focus.
  • Student-focused teaching that addresses the needs of all learners, both traditional and nontraditional.
  • Ongoing professional development.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of and interest in diverse cultures and populations.
  • Experience teaching information technology, computer sciences, and gaming courses online.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ph.D. in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Programming or a closely related field with a Gaming focus.
  • Experience with iOS, Android, or other application development.
  • Experience in developing online courses in gaming or related fields.
  • Blackboard experience.
  • Experience with a variety of pedagogical and technological educational delivery methods.
