Responsibilities:
Note: Although this role is remote, regular travel (generally twice per month) to corporate headquarters in Newtown Square, PA is required.
The Senior Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis position oversees all organizational activity related to annual operating and capital budgets, financial forecasting, the multi-year capital plan and internal financial reporting and analysis processes for Company. This role will provide actionable business insights to the Executive Team and Board of Trustees based on facts and data, both internal and external, that inform the strategic financial direction of the company.
- Thought leadership and related actions regarding best practices for financial management across the Company.
- Management reporting and financial analysis for all markets and segments including development of Management, Discussion & Analysis (quarterly and annually)
- All aspects of administrative expense management;
- Coordination with Actuarial, Strategy and Performance Management teams in development of forecasts, budgets and multi-year financial plans
- Company-wide and industry expense benchmarking, including basic economic forecasting.
- Coordination with Senior Management to communicate drivers of financial results and related performance improvement initiatives.
This is a key role that interacts with executive and senior management on a routine basis to discuss budget and other financial ramifications of operational issues. The SVP, Financial Planning & Analysis will also drive organizational development, sustaining a high performing team across the organization. Drives the development and improvements of processes that provide leaders and stakeholders with clear line-of-sight to their financial performance and enable them to make quality decisions in support of the success of their business or function. Ensures that solutions and improvements provide optimal customer experiences. Will ensure alignment and execution of strategic goals and objectives. Participates in the development and attainment of AmeriHealth Caritas annual and multi-year financial goals and objectives, working with strategic planning and human resources.
Education/ Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree.
- 15+ progressively responsible finance experience (managed care/health care experience preferred).
- At least 5 years experience in a Senior Leadership role.
- Strongly prefer deep forecasting, transformation, strategic planning and financial modeling experience.
- Strong preference for experience in a large, multi-market, multi-product health insurance company, including Medicaid financial management experience.
- Strong verbal and written skills and ability to translate financial and operational data into actionable insights and business implications required.
