Description

WithersRavenel is recruiting a Funding Team Leader to join the expanding and innovative Funding and Asset Management Practice Area!  In this role you will leverage your expertise and skills to collaborate with your team and execute the timely and accurate production of projects.      


This is a fully remote role based out of South Carolina. The ideal candidate has working experience with State or Local Government within South Carolina and a proven track record of securing grants and funding. 


Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Research and identify relevant grants and funding opportunities from federal, state, and private sources.
  • Develop and implement strategies to secure funding for client projects.
  • Prepare and submit high-quality grant applications and proposals. 
  • Work closely with local governments, towns, and municipalities to understand their asset management needs and funding requirements. 
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on funding options and strategies. 
  • Assist clients in developing comprehensive plans. 
  • Oversee the entire grant lifecycle, including application, award, implementation, and reporting. 
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of funded projects to ensure compliance with funding requirements. 
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to funding bodies and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with funding agencies, donors, and other key stakeholders. 
  • Represent the organization at funding-related events, meetings, and conferences. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of funding strategies with organizational goals. 
  • Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities in grant funding. 
  • Maintain accurate records of all funding activities and documentation. 
  • Responsible for cultivation of existing relationships including periodic client meetings, proposal, and budget development, and obtaining feedback in conjunction with Marketing and Department personnel as required.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor Team Members to achieve the goals and strategies for the Practice Area.  Actively encourage career development, training and career path planning for all of your direct teammates.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or a related field. 
  • 10+ years of experience in grant writing, funding acquisition, or a related role. 
  • Working experience in State or Local Government. 
  • Proven track record of successfully securing grants and funding.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and private funding sources. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills as well as excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Energetic, flexible, confident, and forward thinking.
