Scopely is looking for a Senior UX Designer to join a new project within our Midcore division in either Ireland, Spain, Portugal or the UK on a hybrid/remote basis.

We are in the early stages of development on an ambitious, unannounced, cross-platform Strategy/MMO title, creating a team of talented and passionate game makers to join us on this exciting journey!

What You’ll Do

We are seeking a very experienced UX Designer for our next flagship title. Closely collaborating with our Art, UI and Game Design leads, you will be responsible for defining the UX and Player experience of the game and communicate its deep mechanics.

  • Build a truly immersive cross-platform (Pc/Mobile) experience, with a strong focus on narrative

  • Apply your knowledge and research insight to help define the UX for one of our biggest upcoming title

  • Work closely with UI and Art to establish a consistent visual identity and language

  • Directly collaborate with Design to understand and iterate on game mechanics

  • Deliver detailed wireframes, user flows, and design specifications that communicate the intended player experience - including the structuring and organization of content and information in a manner that's intuitive to players

  • Create and iterate on prototypes

  • Playtest the game, continuously pushing for improvements to existing designs

  • Ensure UX design consistency and re-use by leveraging existing UX paradigms, knowing when to establish new design conventions and patterns

  • Engage in Design reviews and feedback sessions. Presenting your designs for feedback and giving feedback to other XD team members

  • Participate in player research and testing, contributing to test objectives, scripts, and the creation of research assets

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience in UX design experience in games.

  • Consistent record of creating impactful features in games

  • Well-versed in rapid iterative prototyping in Figma + Adobe tools

  • Solid understanding of user research methodologies

  • Deep understanding of design mechanics

  • A passion for playing and making games

  • A team player who emphasizes collaboration and welcomes feedback

  • Self-directed individual with strong process, time management and organizational skills

  • A proactive and expert communicator who can clearly communicate design concepts

Bonus Points

  • Experience in a Human Centered Design approach to development

  • Experience in 4x games with deep customization and Meta-progression systems

  • Experience in RPG and combat systems

  • Experience on different platforms (mobile/PC/…)

  • An avid player of F2P/GaaS strategy and RPG games
