A Day in the Life

As the Staff Site Reliability Engineer, you will play an influential role in advancing our product and research infrastructure. You will lead the development of our infrastructure systems, and take ownership of architectural decisions that impact the broader Genomics technical domain. 

Whilst able to work independently, you will also lead a team of engineers, and be responsible for coaching and mentoring others to achieve objectives. You will enjoy sharing your deep technical knowledge, and working with others to develop their skills. 

Who you are

• Strong technical skills in one major cloud platform (we use AWS) and in-depth understanding of at least one front end and one backend language. 

• Deep knowledge of key tooling and technologies used. Ability to critically evaluate software architecture proposals for their merit. 

• Wide knowledge of industry best practices, trends, and emergent tooling and technologies to help us to continue to stay on top of our game.

• Ability to prioritise the delivery of work in accordance with business priorities and communicate clearly to stakeholders about progress and issues.
