Job Description

Wood is looking for a potential Offshore Rig Dispatcher position that reports to the Offshore Superintendent and On-Site Supervisors.

The role is an expression of interest and if active, would be based in Equatorial Guinea on a rotational basis of 28x28.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate boats, helicopters, movement of people and materials offshore in conjunction with the shorebase facility.
  • Coordinate with rig contractor and vendor personnel to ensure all cargo is loaded and unloaded as required,
  • Answer incoming phone calls and either screen, forward or handle as needed.
  • Maintain areas of the Wellview Daily Report as directed by the Offshore Superintendent or On-Site Supervisors.
  • Attend pre-tour meetings in order to inform vendor personnel and others of various equipment and personnel movements
  • Inventory all tools arriving and accurately track all items. Ensure tools are properly loaded in baskets or containers
  • Maintain an equipment on board rental register and track costs accordingly in Wellview
  • Ensure all client-owned and rented equipment is returned onshore when no longer required and document accordingly.
  • In conjunction with the rig contractor’s Materials Coordinator (“storeman”), the Rig Dispatcher has the following responsibilities:
  • Ensure copies of Material Safety Data Sheets accompany chemicals are expedited to or from the rig
  • Copy Dangerous goods (explosives / radioactive material) documentation to the OIM and agree to suitable location
  • Prepare waste shipping manifests and ensure the necessary paperwork is in the vessels standing-by or departing the rig location
  • Ensure client owned and rented equipment is adequately tracked and manifested
  • Maintain well file information and delivery tickets for processing.

Qualifications

  • Similar dispatcher experience within an offshore environment
  • Some experience in rigging preferred
  • Good command of English (written and spoken)
