Job description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled accountant/bookkeeper specializing in QuickBooks to join our team and oversee the financial operations of our construction business and self-storage facilities. The ideal candidate will be a certified QuickBooks advisor with a comprehensive understanding of financial management principles and a track record of maintaining impeccable financial records.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable Management: Handle the payment of invoices from suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers related to construction materials, equipment, and services.
  • Accounts Receivable Management: Track and manage the receivables from clients for construction projects and storage rental fees. Follow up on outstanding payments and manage collections as necessary.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements tailored to the construction and storage facilities business, reflecting the unique aspects of project-based revenue and rental income.
  • Cost Tracking and Analysis: Monitor project costs for construction activities including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs. Analyze cost variances and provide insights to management for cost optimization.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in developing budgets for construction projects and operational expenses for storage facilities. Provide regular forecasts based on project progress and storage occupancy rates.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient funds are available for construction project expenses, operational costs, and debt service obligations. Implement cash management strategies to optimize liquidity.
  • Customer Service: Provide responsive and professional customer service to vendors, clients, and tenants regarding billing inquiries, payment processing, and financial transactions related to construction projects and storage rentals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Certified QuickBooks advisor with demonstrated expertise in QuickBooks software is preferred.
  • Proven experience in financial management, preferably in the construction or real estate industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
