RER Solutions, Inc., is accepting resumes for a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Reading Room Specialist to become a part of our superior workforce. The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Reading Room Specialist will provide onsite and remote federal program support.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, and policies on the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act to determine information suitable for Proactive Disclosure
  • Create and maintain a FOIA Public Reading Room
  • Identify and prioritize content types and formats to ensure consistent redactions and disclosure of information on public facing reading room
  • Implement processes to track, manage, and report on FOIA requests made three or more times and posted to the Reading Room
  • Assist with other FOIA duties as needed
Requirements
  • Minimum of US Citizenship required to obtain client-issued Public Trust
  • Experience in website creation, design, and maintenance
  • Ability to adapt procedures, tools, and resources to meet client needs with minimal oversight
  • 5+ years of technical experience in processing complex information requests under the FOIA and knowledge of FOIA rules and regulations
  • Website development and maintenance experience is preferred
  • Experience with federal records management activities is preferred
  • Experience with legal and regulatory compliance is preferred
  • Department of Energy (DOE) FOIA experience is preferredExcellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and an understanding of fundamental business writing
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Products (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)


EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Government, Business Administration, Arts, Science or related
