Summary
The Regulatory Lead – Wholesale and Retail Agriculture will manage all aspects of regulatory compliance for Simplot’s Wholesale and Retail Agricultural product portfolio in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. With a deep understanding of Simplot’s diverse and broad range of products, you will partner with the Regulatory Team, Leadership, and customers to ensure the continued compliance of the product portfolio across North America.
Key Responsibilities
Product Management
• Provide regulatory guidance on fertilizer and feed product concepts, development, and labeling in cooperation with sales, agronomic services, and other teams.
• Prepare and review product labeling for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Ensure the timely completion and submission of registration data requirements (i.e., certifications, chemical analyses, and labeling).
• Facilitate communications with production facilities and suppliers to maintain accuracy and compliance of product labeling and composition.
• Coordinate with State Registration Managers to complete new registration and address registration concerns.
• Partner with Regulatory Compliance Manager to identify and resolve concerns, including conducting internal audits, investigating deficiencies, violations, complaints, or penalties, and working with fertilizer regulatory officials to resolve issues.
• Review product marketing materials, websites, and sales claims for regulatory compliance.
• Maintain a current working knowledge of fertilizer, feed, and additional relevant regulations in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
Government and Customer Relations
• Build positive, collaborative relationships with government regulatory officials and maintain Simplot’s reputation of compliance and transparency.
• Engage with industry trade associations and keep a current understanding of laws, regulations, and events that impact the business.
• Communicate regulatory actions and impacts to key stakeholders.
• Participate in trainings and workshops related to agricultural products and feed regulatory.
Regulatory Team
• Contribute to the development, implementation, training, updating, and auditing of the team’s registration and regulatory program to ensure compliance.
• Actively support team initiatives with observations, feedback, and open communication.

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

The successful Regulatory Lead will have a positive attitude and enjoy working with a diverse and talented team. Strong time-management and organizational skills are essential to take on simultaneous tasks in an environment with dynamic workloads and projects. In addition to experience and a working knowledge of fertilizer and feed regulations, you will possess:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- Proficiency with MS Office software suite and data reporting.
- Critical thinking skills to gather data and make decisions independently and with a team.
- The ability to manage deadlines and communicate technical issues and concerns.
- Experience working collaboratively and independently in support of team efforts.
- An appetite to learn new concepts and take on potentially challenging projects.
- Demonstrated self-motivation, customer-focus, and attention to detail.
A strong candidate will hold a broader knowledge of agricultural chemical regulations beyond fertilizer and feed. Demonstrated experience with pesticide regulations in the US (EPA/FIFRA, CDPR) and Canada (PMRA), familiarity with chemical product labeling and documentation (SDS and GHS), and an understanding of agricultural retail sales are strongly preferred.
