We are looking for a proactive, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Operational Technology (OT) team on a permanent basis.
Our goal is to exceed customer expectations whilst embracing new technology to drive digital transformation; better connecting our customers, people, assets, and information.
You will develop specialised technical knowledge, as we work within a niche industry with systems which have been constructed to meet the specific needs of a large and demanding water network and everything in-between. You will be keen to learn, with an appetite to absorb information efficiently, under the mentorship of our Senior Engineers and technical experts.

Operational Technology (OT) refers to the set of digital assets which are at the very heart of Anglian Waters industrial operations. Operational technology systems are deployed throughout our geographical region to enable remote monitoring and control of water collection, treatment and distribution processes. The demand for Operational Technology solutions within the Water sector is soaring due to the opportunities associated with IT / OT integration and Industry 4.0 applications. It is recognised that OT is key in enabling us to achieve our performance commitments (including reduction in leakage and pollutions) and providing an excellent service to our customers.
The OT Infrastructure Engineer role is part of the OT Network and Infrastructure team and is responsible for ensuring the availability, maintenance and assurance of the OT domain (a hybrid cloud and physical on-premise infrastructure). The role will be at the centre of the growing OT Domain, ensuring that Anglian Waters assets are maintained and operational 24/7. The role will maintain a relentless focus on service excellence, customer service and service improvement.
The role holder will maintain both traditional and cloud hosted Active Directory environments, ensuring user access control and device onboarding processes are routinely delivered. Additionally, health monitoring and maintenance of OT infrastructure components such as Physical / Virtual Servers, Desktop, Laptop & Storage is a key responsibility of this position.
The OT Infrastructure Engineer will work closely with the OT Programme and Project teams to assist with the delivery of technical changes. Responsibilities include: Project Engagement, Design Reviews/approval, development and execution of Test Plans. The Networks & Infrastructure Engineers will drive optimisation within the OT Infrastructure by utilising tools such as Secure Score, Cloudability, Azure Advisor and Risk Registers to drive enhancements across the domain.
What does it take to be an OT Infrastructure Engineer?
Experience of working within an Active Directory System
Experience of monitoring / maintaining Server, Desktop and Laptop infrastructure
Experience of working within Cloud environments, such as Azure or AWS
Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Active Directory Services
Experience designing, installing, configuring and maintaining large scale server, storage and network infrastructure and services
Knowledge of Server and client operating systems, the management and support thereof, including tools such as Microsoft Defender, SCCM and Veeam technologies
Experienced in the prioritisation of faults and changes
Experience of Customer (Internal & External) Relationship Management
Good understanding of Cyber Security risks
Related Professional Qualification
Experience with troubleshooting issues across a complex TCP/IP Network
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent communication skills
For this position you will need to be available to participate within a 24/7 standby rota for OT Network and Infrastructure incidents and have a full UK Driving Licence.
