Job description

Overview:

Come join Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in Bridgeport as a Bridge Engineer in the Transportation Engineering Group. We have a great, high energy, multidisciplined office that is conveniently located just off Interstate 79 and within walking distance of multiple restaurants. In addition, we offer a flexible hybrid work schedule of two days’ work working remotely each week or one day off every other week. As a Bridge Engineer for CEC, you will develop calculations, details, and specifications for transportation-related structures for a broad range of commercial, industrial, and government clients. Designs will include bridges and other structures including culverts, slabs, retaining walls, and foundations. Projects include new structures and bridge rehabilitations delivered using Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build procurement methods. You'll perform or review structural design calculations; assist with the production of project plans, specifications, reports and cost estimates; assist with marketing efforts including proposal development and estimating the cost of engineering services; and perform bridge inspections or other structural assessments and subsequent reporting.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering required;
  • 4+ years of proven structural design experience required;
  • DOT experience preferred, WVDOH experience is a plus;
  • P.E. license required;
  • FHWA-NHI-130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service bridges preferred;
  • Experience using structural engineering design and analysis software (MDX, LEAP Bridge, PGSuper, STAAD, etc.)
  • Familiarity with drafting and design software such as Bentley Microstation, Bentley OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
