Overview

The SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) role is a critical position within the organization, responsible for overseeing and managing the Master Data Governance processes and systems. This role plays a key part in ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across the organization's various business units and departments. The SAP MDG professional will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Key responsibilities

Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP MDG solutions to meet business requirements.
Experience in abap.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and document master data processes and rules.
Implement data modeling and data quality management best practices within the SAP MDG framework.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of master data governance processes.
Provide expertise in the integration of master data governance with other SAP modules and business processes.
Conduct user training and support during SAP MDG system implementations and upgrades.
Monitor data governance standards and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Participate in data migration and data management activities to ensure seamless data integration and accuracy.
Collaborate with IT and business teams to troubleshoot and resolve master data governance issues and challenges.
Serve as a subject matter expert for SAP MDG, providing guidance and support to business users and stakeholders.
Create and maintain documentation related to master data governance processes, configurations, and user guidelines.
Support the development and implementation of governance frameworks for new master data domains and entities.
Manage relationships with external vendors and partners involved in SAP MDG solution delivery and support.
Contribute to the development and enhancement of SAP MDG best practices, standards, and methodologies.
Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to optimize and align master data governance with business strategies.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
Certification in SAP MDG or other relevant SAP modules is highly preferred.
Proven experience in implementing and supporting SAP MDG solutions in large, complex organizations.
In-depth understanding of master data management principles and best practices.
Strong knowledge of SAP MDG configuration, data modeling, and data replication techniques.
Experience in integrating and aligning master data governance with business processes and systems.
Proficiency in SAP Data Services, SAP Information Steward, and other data management tools is desirable.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach to data governance.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including business users, IT teams, and leadership.
Solid project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within defined timelines.
Experience in leading data governance and data quality management initiatives is a strong asset.
Knowledge of data privacy regulations, data security best practices, and compliance requirements.
Ability to adapt to evolving technology landscapes and industry trends in master data management.
Strong collaborative and teamwork abilities with a customer-focused and service-oriented mindset.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach junior team members in mastering SAP MDG concepts and practices.
