Firmware Engineer at Blue Sparq

We are currently seeking an electrical/software/computer engineer with a passion for firmware development to join our dynamic team in Cape Coral, Florida. 

Preferred location: Cape Coral, Florida, but remote candidates will also be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in system design meetings to analyze client requirements and design suitable architectures.
• Develop and test firmware for 8/16/32 bit PIC microcontroller-based products.
• Develop and test C++ application software using QT/QML.
• Write detailed documentation for end users, including installation and operational procedures.
• Collect feedback from customers, make improvements to hardware design and implementation.
• Prepare documentation for test plans, test results, and installation/operational instructions.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
• Proficiency in C++ for embedded microcontrollers, with MIPS experience required.
• Preference for candidates with past development experience with PIC32MX.
• Focus on Bare metal – No OS – software libraries written in C++ for Microchip PIC32MX and other PIC processors.
• Experience in coding peripheral drivers, bootloaders, interrupts, and communication protocols (Modbus and ProtoBuf).
• Knowledge of C++ STL libraries, polymorphism, inheritance, and abstract classes.
• Experience with Git and/or GitKraken, with Git pipelines as a plus.
• Knowledge of Embedded Linux BSP for IMX6 IMX8, QT development in embedded Linux Environment, and Crank Storyboard development is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new process requirements and a diversity of company production tasks.
