Parametrix has a growing natural resource permitting and restoration environmental practice in our Oregon/SW WA/ID region. We are seeking a Senior Scientist to join us providing natural resources permitting services. We have established workload and are looking for another Senior Scientist to provide project management and delivery of complex projects. We provide innovative wetland and biological science services and environmental permitting solutions for federal, state, and local agencies and for our region’s most complex transportation, infrastructure, site development, and industrial projects. Our environmental practice includes hardworking professionals who are fun, collaborative, and dedicated. This position is a hybrid remote/in-office position with the flexibility to work in our Portland or Vancouver office locations (preferred) and may also be based out of our Boise or Bend office locations.

Who you are:
Experienced: Bachelor’s degree in environmental or biological sciences. Master’s degree preferred. 8+ years of extensive federal, state, and local permitting experience in Oregon and/or SW Washington with a focus on USACE/DEQ Section 404 and 401 of the Clean Water Act, NMFS and USFWS Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act, DSL Removal Fill rules, and other state and local jurisdiction requirements (natural resource assessments in Oregon and critical areas and shoreline permitting in Washington). Ability to lead or assist with wetland and waters delineations, natural resources site assessments, and reporting. Restoration and mitigation experience also desirable. Preferred certifications may include Professional Wetland Scientist, ODOT Qualified Consultant for Providing ESA Documentation, and/or WSDOT Qualified Biological Assessment Author. Experience in permitting in other western states is a plus. Strong writing skills are necessary.
Relationship-focused: This role will focus on natural resources permitting, project management and delivery, and business and client development. Strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to partner with clients, agency staff, and co-workers are key.
Skilled in Project Management: Demonstrated experience and success in managing and delivering projects as well as developing client relationships and marketing environmental services.
Broad Environmental Background: As a Senior Scientist, you will have the opportunity to work directly with planners, scientists, and engineers on complex projects. Our team works broadly across environmental disciplines including endangered species assessment, wetland and stream determinations and mitigation, NEPA analyses, and other natural resource permitting for transportation, restoration, and other exciting projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. This position will lead environmental permitting efforts and will work collaboratively with the environmental team.

Base salary for this position is in the range of $110,000-$145,000+. Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, location, and role. For all positions, we conduct an equity review. Employee-owners are all eligible for performance-based bonuses based on key contributions. Salaries are reviewed at least once annually as part of our compensation program.
