Position Title: Data Engineer

Job Location: 6000 Broken Sound Pkwy NW, Boca Raton, FL 33487 (Hybrid in-office / remote position)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Job Duties:
- Design, develop, implement, test, document, and operate large-scale, high-volume, high- performance data models, reports/dashboards/BI solutions for analytics and deep learning
- Create data pipelines and implement data ingestion routines both real-time and batch using best practices in data modeling and ETL processes
- Gather business and functional requirements and translate these requirements into robust, scalable, operable solutions that work well within the overall data architecture
- Identify optimal solutions to efficiently scale the data flow and familiarity with common data integration challenges like converting data types, handling errors, and translating between different technology stacks
- Use advanced SQL query design and data mining techniques, to use data, attack complex business questions, identify the root causes and drivers, and bring insights
- Responsible for supporting the development, deployment, and maintenance of our data infrastructure, including data pipelines, databases, and data warehousing systems.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including business intelligence analysts, data scientists, and software engineers, to ensure that data is accurate, reliable, and available for analysis and reporting.
Required Minimum Position Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering; and 1 year of work experience in the job offered, in Business Intelligence, as a Software Developer, as a Software Engineer, or as a Data Analyst.
Position also requires demonstrated experience in the following:
- SQL Job orchestration tools like Airflow and Cron;
- Java, Python, and JavaScript;
- SQL transformation and analytic features;
- Snowflake and MySQL;
- Using various styles of CDC while preserving data lineage and metadata;
- Data warehouse data modeling with building dim and fact tables with SCD2;
- Working with non-database data sources including APIs and flat files;
- Managing and promoting code using common GitHub workflows;
- Building and using various data unit test techniques and tools;
- Various flat file formats, parsing techniques, and error handling methods;
- Analyzing SQL performance and optimizing designs based on observed behavior;
- Database security, permissions, and roles; and
- Python and Javascript/Typescript code

WORK SCHEDULE
Orangetheory Fitness currently observes the following hybrid work model for employees at our Boca Raton, FL and Seattle, WA offices:
- Remote optional: Mondays and Fridays
- On-site days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
