Description

The ACA Navigator is responsible for conducting outreach and education activities that will inform and educate the community about the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and insurance options in the Federal Health Insurance Marketplace. The Navigator will disseminate information and assist individuals to apply for health insurance services. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduate and three years of experience providing services to communities or sixty hours of college coursework and two years providing services to diverse cultures and backgrounds
  • Self-directed and capable of completing projects on time
  • Capability to be a productive and contributing member of a creative team
  • Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in diverse community groups
  • Knowledge of outreach strategies that will engage consumers to participate in services
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Successfully complete required federal and local training
  • Meet established goals and performance standards
  • Conduct community outreach in assigned areas, according to monthly schedule and in accordance with program policies and procedures
  • Assist families with getting needed services, including application assistance, information, referrals, and/or other needed services
  • Assist individuals to obtain income and related information necessary to verify eligibility for programs
  • Educate the community in a fair and impartial manner about the importance of insurance offered and availability of such in their community
  • Maintain accurate records of appointments and outreach sessions and other program related activities
  • Compile and submit weekly activity reports to the program coordinator, 90% of reports must be submitted on time
  • Assist in developing promotional strategies that will increase the community awareness of programs
  • Attend 90% of supervision sessions, meetings, and in-service training sessions
  • Conduct self in a professional manner, observing ethical standards and agency policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
