We leverage a wide range of cloud services to achieve our strategic objectives and are in search of a dedicated Cloud Solutions Engineer to establish, assist in designing, monitor, and optimize these systems within AWS and Azure environments.Scope Summary:**

The major gift officer is a key player on CompTIA Spark’s fundraising team, working to support the achievement of our major gift fundraising program objectives. Reporting to the Director of Development, the major gift officer will be responsible for identifying and cultivating relationships with prospective major gift donors, conducting prospect research to build and maintain a pipeline, overseeing stewardship and recognition programs, and ensuring appropriate usage of the development donor database.

Success in this role will involve prospect research and development of effective solicitation strategies as well as stewarding donors throughout the major giving process. The major gift officer will build a donor portfolio of prospects with current planned asks of $50,000 or more and emphasize prospects with an ultimate capacity to support the organization with a gift of $100,000 or greater.

Key performance metrics:

  • Maintains an active portfolio of at least 75 constituents.
  • Achieves an annual minimum of 75 meaningful donor visits.
  • Solicits at least $400,000 in commitments annually.
  • Execute stewardship touchpoints with 100% on time and accuracy rates.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Developing, managing, and growing a major gift portfolio, growing donor investment and support over time.
  • Researching major gift donor prospects to inform strategy and pipeline development.
  • Cultivating relationships with major gift donors.
  • Conducting outreach to secure donor meetings, qualify potential donors, and move them forward in the donor cycle. Meeting ambitious activity targets via cold calling, meetings, and networking.
  • Developing a donor solicitation strategy for major gift prospects.
  • Operating a donor stewardship program, including managing donor acknowledgment process.
  • Overseeing portfolio of workplace giving companies, providing appropriate cultivation and stewardship touchpoints to grow revenue from this donor segment.
  • Drafting major gift proposal documents and grant applications, managing grant submission calendar, and working collaboratively with a contract grant writer to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate with Director of Development on donor strategies and initiatives.
  • Oversee management of donor database (Microsoft Dynamics) from a development team perspective.
  • Manage and update charity watchdog sites (GuideStar, Charity Navigator, etc) to support major gift fundraising.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience in non-profit development, with a track record of successful solicitations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Very high emotional intelligence
  • Experience managing data within CRM software
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Strong ability to work well with others
  • Innovative; able to develop new ideas
  • Great collaboration skills
