Enterprise Fulfillment in GDI&A is seeking a Data Engineer to create, deliver, and support custom data products, as well as enhance/expand capabilities. You will work on analyzing and manipulating large datasets supporting revenue for the business generated from data products. **

Responsibilities**

The focus will be on understanding available data, working with business partners to collect requirements, ensuring compliance with Data Governance and OGC use case approvals, creating data products, production delivery, profiling, monitoring, and ongoing support. You will have the opportunity to expand your business knowledge, cross-functional collaboration, business intelligence acumen, and technical experience. **

What you’ll be able to do** :

  • Partner with teams across Ford to use curated data to create data products that deliver value for external customers.
  • Perform data discovery within Google Cloud Platform ecosystems.
  • Implement ETL processes, such as data transformation using tools including but not limited to HQL, Spark, Scala, Python
  • Ensure data quality, maintain profiles of data products, and monitor system performance.
  • Comply with use case approvals from data governance, legal, and privacy policies.
  • Provide customer support and coordinate issue resolution with data stewards.
  • Maintain engagement with analytics teams, business partners, OGC, and Tech

Qualifications

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Math, Statistics, Information Science, or related quantitative field
  • 5+ years in a traditional data warehouse environment (ETL pipelines), Datastage, Informatica, etc.
  • 2+ years utilizing data tools such as Python, SQL, Scala, and/or Spark.
  • 2+ years of experience working on cloud-based systems (ideally Google Cloud) or AWS where you utilized the understanding of the simplicity and scalability of data pipelines and interfaces.
  • Experience with access, transformation, and integration of data from multiple data sources
  • Exposure to APIs, Cloudera, MapR
  • A strong technical background, with experience building applications in a data-focused role in both Cloud and Traditional Data Warehouses

Our preferred requirements :

  • Advanced degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Math, Statistics, Information Science, or related quantitative field
  • Comfortable with a broad array of relational and non-relational databases
  • Relevant experience linking business requirements to digital product development.
  • Experience writing and speaking about technical concepts to business, technical, and lay audiences and giving data-driven presentations.
  • Inquisitive, proactive, and interested in learning new tools and techniques.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate to create mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Foster exceptional customer relationships and solve for win-win outcomes with internal Ford and third-party customers.
  • Problem formulation, solution scoping, and critical thinking
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the business, with well-developed written and oral skills, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Handle multiple project assignments with minimal direction, and escalate issues as necessary.
