TIB requires a comprehensive background investigation, including criminal and credit history. If this aligns with your values and you want to join a leader in the banking industry, we are hiring for a Merchant Services Business Payment Specialist that will serve as the primary contact for Bank Partners assigned as it relates to Merchant Services. This individual attains monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals, generating revenue through sales of credit card processing products and services to new and current businesses. Also owns bank relationships in assigned portfolio which includes contract renewals and negotiations (with Management approval and oversight), development of growth initiatives for Bank Partners, and overall satisfaction of the Bank Partner.

This position can be located at either TIB Corporate Offices in Farmers Branch or can be remote in the San Antonio or Austin markets. 

MAJOR DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Initiates direct sales calls to clients (bank relationship or direct marketing) within the assigned bank portfolio to establish new merchant accounts including price negotiations, contract discussions, and equipment sales.
  • Communicates with small to mid-size business owners, CEO's, etc., to evaluate their needs and propose merchant solutions to fit their business. 
  • Responds to leads generated by merchant bank programs.
  • Works with assigned Bank Partners as the sales resource, supporting bank solicitations, and marketing promotions as well as going on merchant calls with bank staff.
  • Effectively interacts with Merchant Support, Risk, and Operations teams to provide accuracy and timeliness throughout the setup process, ensuring excellent service to customers. 
  • Ensures that monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals are met or exceeded.
  • Provides input on market conditions and development of new products and services.
  • Manages and develops bank relationships, including the implementation of growth strategies, on an individual bank basis as well as serving as a senior level advocate for the bank partner within TIB.
  • Monitors and reports all repeated escalations to management in an effort to streamline departmental efficiencies.
  • Provides input for development and implementation of reporting needed by management and bank partners as a higher level of support.
  • Implements overall departmental growth strategies as developed by management as well as providing feedback on strategies.
  • Serves as key escalation point with bank partners for all high-level inquiries.
  • Identifies, through cold calls, potential merchant services relationships and potential bank clients.
  • Provides reporting as directed by management.

REQUIREMENTS/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 3-5 years previous merchant sales/marketing experience 
  • Highly motivated, with the ability to work independently, with little direct supervision
  • Strong independent prospecting, networking, and business development skills
  • Travel required, including some overnight, up to 75% of the time
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and across all levels 
  • SoftwareMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); FDR

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) 
  • 2-4 years previous experience in a merchant processing environment 
  • Familiarity with VISA/MasterCard regulations 
  • Presentation and project management skills
