Academic and Interventional Nephrologist
Ochsner Health – Department of Nephrology
Position Highlights:
- The Department of Nephrology at Ochsner Medical Center (OMC) in New Orleans, Louisiana is searching for a full-time Academic Nephrologist interested in a hybrid position in Interventional and General Nephrology.
- Our group practice takes care of a large patient population with end-stage kidney disease and dialysis-dependent acute kidney injury. We seek an individual who is proficient and experienced in the whole realm of procedures in Interventional Nephrology, including, but not limited to, the performance of placement of tunneled hemodialysis catheters as well as diagnostic and therapeutic procedures on arteriovenous hemodialysis accesses.
- The successful candidate will also lead a dedicated curriculum for trainees enrolled in our Fellowship Program and will be appointed as Section Director of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology at Ochsner Health System, New Orleans.
- From the perspective of General Nephrology, we seek an individual who is interested in the full spectrum of tertiary care for a Nephrology practice.
- We offer the successful candidate the opportunity to practice in a state-of-the-art hospital & clinics in a collegial environment, to educate medical students, residents and fellows, and to participate in clinical and translational research programs aligned to enhance the quality and safety of patient care in a large multispecialty academic group practice setting.
- The specific distribution of effort to be dedicated to Interventional and General Nephrology-related duties is negotiable but is to be structured to provide an optimal path for career success. We offer a competitive compensation package commensurate to qualifications.
- The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment from our medical school, the Ochsner Clinical School, which enrolls over 100 medical students per year, and is affiliated with the prestigious The University of Queensland (Brisbane, Australia). Ochsner has the largest Graduate Medical Education Program in the state. Our Nephrology Fellowship Program hosts 3 trainees per year over a 2-year program.
