Your missions

We've made a lot of progress since opening the doors in 1942, but one thing has never changed - our commitment to serve, heal, lead, educate, and innovate.  We believe that every award earned, every record broken and every patient helped is because of the dedicated employees who fill our hallways.

At Ochsner, whether you work with patients every day or support those who do, you are making a difference and that matters.  Come make a difference at Ochsner Health and discover your future today!

Ochsner Hospital for Children in New Orleans is recruiting a pediatric cardiologist to direct our Pediatric Heart Failure/Heart Transplant Program. This position includes care of patients with cardiomyopathies, heart failure, transplant, congenital heart disease, and ventricular assist devices. Candidates would be joining two heart failure/heart transplant cardiologists and a newly hired heart failure/transplant physician assistant in the only pediatric heart transplant center in Louisiana. The transplant team is supported by dedicated transplant coordinators, transplant psychologist, transplant social worker, transplant pharmacist, and palliative care team. Ochsner Health has all pediatric cardiac sub-specialties including EP, ACHD, interventional cardiology, imaging including echocardiography and cardiac MRI and CT, and fetal cardiology. We have 3 congenital heart surgeons and a dedicated pediatric cardiac intensive care unit. Ochsner is an active participant in PHTS and ACTION. Interested applicants should be BC/BE in pediatric cardiology and have completed an advanced fellowship in pediatric heart failure/heart transplant or minimum of 5 years of experience in the field. In addition to patient care, the physician will be responsible for the education of Tulane-Ochsner pediatric residents and medical students, and our own University of Queensland medical students.

The Department of Pediatrics and our pediatric subspecialists (collectively, Ochsner Hospital for Children™) represent over 230 pediatric physicians.  The group is the region’s leading integrated provider of multispecialty care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.  We offer a full range of pediatric services including bone marrow transplantation, solid organ transplantation, pediatric cardiovascular surgery, and a comprehensive pediatric surgical sub-specialty group, as well as the region’s only comprehensive multidisciplinary developmental center. We utilize a 54-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 14-bed PICU, a 12-bed pediatric CVICU, a 44-bed pediatric acute unit, a pediatric emergency room, and dedicated, full-time, region-wide in-house pediatric and neonatal transport teams.  In December 2023 Ochsner announced the building of a new separate, comprehensive, dedicated Children’s Hospital on our main health sciences campus, with expected opening in 2027. This with further amplify our ability to function as a wide regional quaternary care destination center for Children’ across the Gulf South and the central US.
