The Manager Category Promotions and Offer Strategy is responsible for maximizing margin through promotional offer strategies, category guidance, offer governance utilizing system architecture. Recommendations are expected to be based on internal, competitive, and market data. This position has direct reports.
- Develop and lead a multi-functional team that delivers promotional offer strategy.
- Establish a Strategic Promotional Framework with Category Management to create promotional strategies by category.
- Works with the promotional execution team to ensure promotional events are set up in a timely and accurate manner and that all internal controls related to promotion are being followed.
- Cultivate a data-driven environment within the team and across stakeholders to identify vendor funding variances, promotional optimization, assortment affinities, channel productivity, all-in margin, inventory improvements
- Drive a CRM Promotional agenda that integrates customer data, channels of business, and promotional results in new ways to deepen customer relationships and drive profitable retail business growth.
- Identify key insights from analyses, cutting through large amounts of data to quickly identify trends and implications on sourcing strategy & approach
- Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses (cost/benefit analysis, rate analysis, win/loss ratio, competitive intelligence) to support promotional strategies by category and maximize margin ROI.
- Report on findings to category management and senior management. Use analytics to prepare for critical promotional management, maximize margin and support promotional funding negotiations.
- Identify promotional opportunities and gaps by via understanding of the business and application of quantitative and qualitative industry, consumer, and syndicated insights
- Express clear points of view and conclusions to a wide range of internal and external audiences through effective story telling via presentations, white papers and slide presentations for the merchandise leaders, supplier partners, Senior and Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Directors
