 We are seeking a skilled EpicCare Procedure Orders to join our team. Individuals working with EpicCare Procedure Orders are responsible for managing the electronic order entry and management processes related to procedures within the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system. 


Responsibilities :

  • EpicCare Procedure Orders administrators or analysts are responsible for configuring the system to support procedure order entry and management. They set up procedure order sets, templates, and other system parameters to align with clinical workflows and best practices. 
  • These professionals facilitate the electronic entry of procedure orders into the Epic EHR system. They work closely with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and complete order entry, including specifying the procedure type, required resources, scheduling preferences, and any necessary pre-procedure preparations. 
  • EpicCare Procedure Orders specialists are responsible for maintaining and updating procedure order sets. They collaborate with clinicians, subject matter experts, and clinical informatics teams to review and revise order sets based on evidence-based practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational guidelines. 
  • Individuals working with EpicCare Procedure Orders manage the scheduling of procedures and associated resources, such as operating rooms, equipment, and staff. They coordinate with various departments, including the operating room, nursing, anesthesia, and radiology, to ensure the availability of resources and optimize the utilization of procedure rooms.
  • These professionals configure and maintain clinical decision support tools within the Epic system to promote safe and appropriate procedure ordering. They set up alerts, reminders, and guidelines to ensure compliance with best practices, patient safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.  
  • EpicCare Procedure Orders specialists provide training and support to healthcare providers on how to effectively use the system for procedure order entry and management. They educate users on system functionalities, order entry workflows, and best practices. They also offer troubleshooting assistance, address user questions, and resolve issues related to procedure orders. 
  • Individuals working with EpicCare Procedure Orders collaborate with the IT department to perform system maintenance tasks, apply updates and upgrades, and ensure the optimal performance of the procedure order management system. They participate in testing and validation processes to ensure the system's reliability and accuracy. 
  • These professionals participate in quality assurance initiatives related to procedure order management. They analyze procedure-related data, identify trends, and generate reports to assess the utilization, timeliness, and outcomes of procedures. They collaborate with clinical quality improvement teams to implement changes or interventions based on data analysis. 
Requirements

 

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Healthcare IT in an Epic Clinical Analyst/Team Lead/Manager role
  • Certification in Epic Inpatient Orders
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years’ work experience). If Associate’s Degree, must have equivalent (minimum 6-year working experience)
  • Experience in at least 1 full implementation of Epic
  • Experience in Epic Inpatient Clinical Documentation (ClinDoc), Epic Stork, Epic Willow, Epic Beaker, Epic Radiant/Cupid or Epic OpTime/Anesthesia.
