This is a remote position.

Weibermacht Consulting's client, a leading Community Development company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Federal Grant Writer, a key contributor responsible for grant application preparation, administration, and activity delivery, particularly focusing on federally funded local projects. This role requires a professional with a proven track record of successfully securing and managing grants from relevant agencies and programs, including recent experience in community development, FEMA Hazard Mitigation, or similar projects. The Grant Writer will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's efforts to secure funding for disaster recovery and mitigation initiatives, working closely with local government clients and stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Grant Application Preparation

  • Write, and submit grant applications that align with the organization's mitigation objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive grant proposals, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and tailoring applications to meet the specific requirements of relevant agencies and programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information, data, and insights for grant applications
Grant Administration and Activity Delivery
  • Assist in the administration and delivery of federally-funded local projects, ensuring adherence to grant conditions, reporting obligations, and project milestones.
  • Collaborate with program managers and local government clients to monitor project progress, gather data, and prepare accurate and timely progress reports.
  • Contribute to project coordination and communication efforts to ensure seamless implementation 

Scope of Work and Capacity

  • Clearly outline which specific parts of the Scope of Work the service provider intends to perform, demonstrating a thorough understanding of project requirements.
  • Describe the capacity of the service provider to carry out the chosen Scope of Work activities within the proposed timeline.
  • Submit resumes of all employees who may be assigned to provide services, highlighting current employees and proposed hires, along with their relevant expertise.
     

Resource Substantiation

  • Provide a detailed statement substantiating the service provider's resources and capabilities to execute the requested scope of work effectively.
  • Highlight the organization's ability to meet project demands, allocate necessary resources, and collaborate with local government clients.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Public Administration, Emergency Management, Community Development, or a related discipline). 
  • Minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience in federal grant writing, application preparation, administration, and activity delivery for disaster recovery and mitigation projects.
  • Proven track record of securing and managing federally-funded projects, or similar contexts.
  • Strong understanding of federal grant regulations, policies, and application procedures, with expertise in disaster recovery and mitigation funding.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, capable of crafting compelling grant applications and reports.
  • Proficiency in budget development, financial reporting, and project coordination for grant-funded initiatives.
  • Effective research skills and the ability to gather and synthesize information from diverse sources.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative mindset, and the ability to work effectively with local government clients and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
